If they are all so "affordable and convenient", why don't we still eat them? We do! Some of these items are still staples at our house. Bush's baked beans with hot dogs, bratwurst or other tube sausage is a family favorite served with cornbread. I've treated many a cold and upset tummy with tomato soup. Add a diced tomato and make with milk or even cream for an adult tomato bisque. Every item in this video is still broadly available in stores.

So much of this is just the same three scripts with the food name changed. And, really, to infer that chicken noodle soup may be found in some stores, along with chili, baked beans, tomato soup, tamales, and everything else in this video is ridiculous. The canned food industry still manufactures all of these foods and it's a multi billion dollar a year industry.

You could've cut out half of the video by stated that all these food items aren't as popular to snobby kids, due to dietary trends and consumer preferences. Instead of repeating that all the way through for each food item. Another thing, I like all of these items once in a while. Especially in a pinch. And another thing, who the hell made this video?

Apparently everything was sold in the 50's and 60's, but my mom bought this stuff in the 80's. Maybe she time travelled back to the 60's to buy it all. Try doing a little research FFS

As a kid in the 1950s, I grew up hating vegetables. Why? Because most canned veggies were vile, but Moms bought them because back then they were so much cheaper than frozen, and fresh were luxury items. As an adult, I've learned to love fresh veggies - especially oven roasted. The only canned I now buy is corn and then only when I want to blend it into cornbread.

I have 2x12 cans of Spagetios. I buy six packs of Hormel Chii I buy frozen Banquet Salisbury Steaks. I have Sloppy Joe sauce. I buy Dinty Moore Beef Stew in packs of six cans. Chicken noodle soup is still under $1 at Walmart. It's on my grocerey list. I have about 12 four backs of Beeferoni. It is $1.12 per can. I buy Fruit Cocktail at times, but I'm Diabetic so I avoid a lot of fruit these days. I always preferred soup beans. A jar of spaghetti sauce doesn't coot much more than Tomato soup and doesn't have to be dilated before heating it. Pineapple is readily available at all major chains in my area. I still like it. Clams suck. I have a half dozen 12 can cases of Ravioli. I have a half dozen 8 can packs of green beans. Chicken & Rice is on my shopping list. It's still under $1 a can

Bush's baked beans, some good old mac and cheese and a hunk of cornbread is a tasty combo. Somehow I missed out on the canned salisbury steaks. Didn't even know it even existed but I looked it up and it's still available for up to $20 for a 15oz can. Even at half that price, it's too expensive for me.
