Wilf knocking 4 times is actually genius. The doctor was told 'he' would knock 4 times, but doesn't mention who. The doctor knows that this event would be the end of his current life, but presumes it's the Master who kills him. The 4 knocks still signal his death, but not for the person he thought it would be.

These are all great. A few of other memorable moments that come to my mind include: 1. The Doctor taking Vincent Van Gogh to see his work in the present day. 2. The Doctor and Donna destroying Pompeii together to save the world. 3. Ace beating up a dalek with a baseball bat. 4. River Song's sacrifice in the Library. 5. The Doctor rejoicing at the end of The Doctor Dances when "everybody lives."

Midnight is my favourite episode of DW. None of the other "scary" episodes managed to create genuine existential dread quite like this one. The fact that The Doctor never managed to (as Ellie stated) solve the puzzle makes it all the more terrifying.... [Edit: YT absolutely sketched out on me when I originally posted this. Apologies if all you saw when initially reading it was a word salad]

I love Midnight as well because it also shows how necessary the Doctors companions are. Without a companion to help him bridge the gap and humanise him to a crowd of frightened strangers, all of his actions just served to alienate him further

Finally, some midnight appreciation. It’s an amazing episode and the side cast really helps it. I love the feeling of the doctor out of his league, it’s uniquely perfect. Of course we’ll pretend there’s no visible green screen in the beginning…

Ten yelling, "I could do so much more!" It broke my heart because it was so true and yet if he let Donna's grand dad die it would have made him so much less. Talk about a no-win scenario! Oh, and "Water always wins." I use that line every time someone in the real world attempts to cross a flooded road and has to be rescued.

I'm always going back and forth between Midnight and Heaven Sent as to which one is the best and most shocking episode of Doctor Who, because they're both very different and at the same time equally briliant in the points where they're similar. But it's undeniable that Midnight wins the spot for the most unsettling and terrifying episode of them all. Just watching the Doctor struggling to address what the threat really is and how to overpower it, while everyone is freaking out and blaming each other up to the point of losing his authority, been called accomplice to the creature and getting actually defeated by it, having lost his free will. If it wasn't for the attendant who bravely sacrifies herself to take Sky and the creature possessing her outside, the Doctor would have probably just died moments later being thrown out the bus, which it's completely terrifying and disturbing to think about. And the fact the whole thing happens in a closed room (the bus) and we never really find out what that creature was or what was it doing really, it's even more impressive.

I think my favourite moments from my experience of doctor who so far would probably start with my first introduction to the show with series 1 back in 2005! The ninth doctor and rose tyler quickly became very popular in my household and that first series was so magical! Being introduced to the classic who monsters for the first time like the daleks, cybermen, the master/ missy, davros and so many more was so special too! I loved seeing all of the tenth doctors companions together in the tardis at the end of the series 4 finale! The 50th anniversary special was incredible and matt smith smashed it as the eleventh doctor! Rosa was incredibly educational and emotive and was one of the few quality episodes of the chibnall era. And I loved the first episode of the 60th anniversary specials, looking forward to the rest and finally seeing the fifteenth doctor and ruby sunday! Great video Who Culture and you were amazing Ellie! Thanks for this! 😊😊

Two's triumph in the face of the Dalek Emperor in The Evil of the Daleks when he reveals that he has spread the Human Factor to all the drone Daleks in the city. I do not envy whoever had to come up with these particular 20 moments (checks notes) Mark Donaldson, good job! I'm sure anyone watching could come up with a list of 20 completely different moments. But we won't; it's a good list. i agree with every entry. I even like the order. Of course, that means there's plenty of room for another video or two or three... Nice work all around. In particular, once again, for the criminally underappreciated performances by our own Ellie Littlechild, which we get FOR FREE (the performances, not Ellie). Don't worry: the appreciation will come. Special moments throughout the acr of the doctors greatest adventures across time and space and a few unmentionable moments that's certainly caused a long time problems for it untimely exit for a year or two, but sometimes this is a mishap in the history of Whoinverse. The fact is Doctor Who is actually better when it comes back undoubtedly. There's always someone who wants to finish it off, but fans know best. It's worth remembering this scenario to say it's over that is where it depends on how it's loved by those who are dedicated fans to every moment and every doctor and its wobbly moments as time passes by. Fantastic magical trip in a blue box and 60 years of epic time lord mystical connection between truth and weird aliens to deadly one's a child born in the 60s world where 4 lads for Liverpool would change to world with music to a little science fiction series that brought a hobo and craxy old man into existence and changed tv forever as the saying goes and the rest is history on a some many levels for everyone who hide behind the sofa or listen to music the whole universe has to say this is exactly what we were, we all have our favourite doctor's and music from The Beatles

My favourite Doctor Who moment? "I AM YOUR SER-VANT! I AM YOUR SER-VANT! I AM YOUR SER-VANT!" This cliffhanger, from an audio recording of "The Power of the Daleks", is what truly introduced me to Doctor Who, and for that, I'll never forget it as long as I live. Also, this brief interrogation: "Who are you?" "I'm the Examiner." "WHY are you HERE?" "To examine." There's just something about the way that conversation is spoken, which really makes it stick in the mind. And now, for something off-topic: funnily enough, I'm not a fan of Heaven Sent. I do respect that it's a technically impressive one-hander with an amazing soundtrack ("The Shepherd's Boy" in particular), and Peter Capaldi's acting is sublime. However, I just can't see myself rewatching it, because it isn't happy, or for that matter, a complete story (like "City of Death"). Also, when you look at it with fresh eyes, it's just the Doctor being chased around a castle by a bedsheet ghost, while angsting too much (which I think is a waste of Capaldi's talent and a major flaw in this Doctor's characterisation overall). So, while I don't know about other peoples' individual reasons for liking the story (and rightfully so; it is pretty much perfect from an atmospheric and thematic standpoint, if not plot-wise, so it's definitely got a lot to love), looking back, I myself just can't help but 1) roll my eyes, 2) compare it to "Scherzo" (a Big Finish two-hander with a similar premise that showcases a different kind of impressive acting skills), and 3) wish I was watching "Robot in Sherwood" instead ("GUARD! HE'S LAUGHING AGAIN! YOU CAN'T KEEP ME LOCKED UP IN HERE WITH A LAUGHING PERSON!"). Then again, I think "Nightmare in Silver" is a brilliant episode (though I do think that the instant upgrade thing is the kind of trope that you can only pull off once), and that's second-to-last on the 11th Doctor polls, so who am I to judge the greatest Doctor Who episode of all time? Also, Timeless Child aside (to which I recommend a very good Titan Comics story called "Origins" featuring Jo Martin's Fugitive Doctor), I consider the Chibnall run overall to be mostly forgettable fun (though "Fugitive of the Judoon" is brilliant, as are the Dalek specials).

I agree about Nightmare in Silver. Although I didn’t really LIKE it, I was slack-jawed at Matt’s brilliant acting.

I've no problem with the list, but would like to suggest an idea for another, triggered by some old timey-whimey memories of the Classic era. A list, perhaps tongue-in-cheek or played for laughs, acknowledging the shakiest of Doctor Who tropes, highlighting moments where the sets wobbled or fights were less than convincing. the main trigger for this was remembering the many, many times a physical fight would be shown by having the participants facing into the camera and punching at nothing. I know the show didn't have a dedicated stunt team until Pertwee's era, with HAVOC taking over as UNIT soldiers, Ogrons etc, but there must have been a better way to depict an altercation than "punch into the lens" fighting.

Think Vengeance on Varos is incredibly underrated. It was genuinely creepy and wonderfully atmospheric. It's the Sixth Doc's best serial, imo. That episode one cliffhanger is one of the greatest. You genuinely worried that the Doctor was dead.

Other than the throwbacks and callbacks to classic Doctor Who, Sacha Dewan's performance in Power Of The Doctor was truly the best part of the episode.

The problem with that Rasputin moment is that the rest of the episode up to that point seems to exist for no other reason than to service that moment and makes no sense whatsoever.

Having rewatched from the Clara series quite recently (The were spotty for me on TV) I've been amazed at how good an actor Jenna Coleman is. Bringing, sometimes fairly average, writing up to an amazing performance. Always in character when not the focus of scenes. Reacting well... and acting is reacting or so they say.

I doubt that they could do the auton scenes now - think they would seem all too real with the mass shootings that have take place in the US, and the Westminster and London Bridge attacks.
