When Sean said he felt like more time should have passed before Louise was in the apartment... directly after that was the scene of Mrs Flood on the roof wearing that coat, that made me assume that months had passed cuz why would she be wearing that if it were still the middle of summer? Just cuz there wasn't snow on the ground doesn't mean it couldn't have been cold (obviously lol). Plus that makes more sense if the fact that Ruby and Louise have already made plans to try to meet her father...

To me Rubys mom reveal was a major episode. The rest was okay but not great. I was entertained at least.

I think there was originally going to be a build up but the relationship deteriorated. You can’t have a character leave in the middle of a big story. I don’t think we will see much of Millie in the next season.

I have generally loved this season, but it’s hard to argue that the over-arching plot maybe didn’t work as well as I’d hoped. Church was fine. Space Babies was fine. 73 yards, great! Devil’s Chord, great! Rogue, great! Dot and Bubble, great! Legend of Ruby Sunday, great! Boom, great! Like all of them were bloody great. And then there was Empire of Death and … I mean, there was stuff that infuriated me, but … it was fine. Disappointing, but fine. Eh. It’s always a bit disappointing when the finale isn’t all you wanted, because so much of it is about paying off the build up. But honestly, except for that, the season was great. Just wished it could have paid off successfully. Still a bit sad it didn’t.

I feel like Ruby's departure was stupid... we've seen The Doctor leave companions on Earth for years and then pop back into their lives while they were still the main companions without the need for a big goodbye, it just seemed unnecessary

I think what bothered me about the reveal is that it fails to explain the outright supernatural things going on with Ruby. The show just shrugs its shoulders and go "That was weird wasn't it" and offers no other explanation. Sometimes that's fine but not when a show goes out of its way to point out how weird those events were. It all felt like a waste of time.

IMO, everything the minions were doing was Sutekh doing things. The minions, themselves, weren't doing any of that. OG Sutekh was a god. Calling him an Osiran is just pedantry.

I need to watch the episodes of this season again. I'm thinking that if Sutekh can control others through time and space as their minion, surely something similar could happen with Ruby's birth mother? We don't know because what's shown to us is confusing and incomplete and leaves a bad taste. But I reckon that Sutekh manifesting into the Doctor's reality meant that they also developed some limits of physicality. And those limits are what the doctor exploited.

To go backwards a bit, I still feel the retcon of Sutekh being part of the Pantheon and not addressing his origin as an Osirian, was awkward for me. To be fair the whole season felt rushed, with only 8 episodes, and it would have been difficult to expand on many of the plot points. But, it felt like he was just shoehorned into the Pantheon, just to fit the narrative, and involvement of the Pantheon.

Just so you know.. sometimes adopted reunions are pretty simple like that. I have a cousin who was adopted out because my aunt was 16 when she was born. She can back into our lives 30 years later. Huge family bbq introducing her, her husband and kids to everyone. She eventually moved into the same city as our side of the family and it’s almost like she was never gone. Totally drafted in. She still loved her adopted family. But her family grew when she found her mom.

21:43 I did see how so many people hated the whole hug with Kate and hand holding. What I really think is that it has nothing to do with them being in a relationship or into each other. I took it as character development of Kate. Before the 60th Kate was straight forward, a soldier, but during the 60th and after we saw her lighten up. With everything she, UNIT, and The Doctor had been through over the years, she’s learned how to have a heart.For example, I don’t think THIS Kate would be so quick to push the button to kill all the Zygons. I believe learning from the Doctor has made her softer and we see this with how she interacts with everyone. She doesn’t mind giving a hug, telling her interest, building a relationship. I would argue that this was true for her father as well. Being The Doctor’s friend, learning from him, and watching him made the Brigadier less cold. I can’t remember what episode it was from a Pertwee episode, but they finished by dancing around and he wasn’t about it, but asked is subordinate for a drink instead. The doctor changes people and they are great examples. Or I am just overthinking it 😅

There was no mention of mavity that I saw in the finale. Also, Ruby's father's surname is Garnet, another gemstone that is red in color. Finally, as to Mrs. Flood, I like the theory that we're watching a show within a show and Mrs. Flood is the narrator. But a flood is another body of water, so I wonder if there's a River Song or Melody Pond connection....
