Just so you know, hearts of stone is based on an old Polish folklore. Here's the story: One of the best-known devils in Polish legends is the one that signed a pact with the 16th-century nobleman Sir Twardowski. According to the contract, the devil provided the nobleman with great wisdom and magical powers in exchange for - as you might very well expect - his soul. However, a key stipulation stated that Twardowski’s soul could only be collected in Rome. That allowed the cunning nobleman to exercise his special powers without ever having to pay the price - as long as he avoided the Eternal City. However, on one day, the devil tricked Twardowski into visiting an inn… An inn called none other than Rome. That was when the party ended for Sir Twardowski: a confrontation with the devil ensued and as a result the nobleman became stranded on the moon forever (or in the space between it and the Earth, in other versions). The similarities are not coincidental. That's a major Polish legend. My great grandma told me that

There's also a poem "Pani Twardowska" by Adam Mickiewicz in which Twardowski gives the Devil Mephistopheles three tasks to fullfill. First task had three steps. -bring to life horse in Inn's emblem. -make a whip out of sand. -build a mansion out of walnuts, nailed with poppy seed with a thatchet roof made of Jesish beirds. Next task was to sit in a bowl of holy water. Final task...was to live, love and care for Twardoski's wife. Who is usually drawn to look as beutiful as Scotsman's wife. The devil could not take it and fled through a keyhole.

When Geralt kills the boar that attacks the fire eater, the fire eater calls it a bear. When Vlod questions him about telling the difference between a bear and boar the fire eater says he’s not “some kind naturalists”. When Vold asks his name, the fire eater replies David Artensborrow. This is a tribute to the real David Attensborough who is in fact one of Britain’s most famous natural historians and broadcasters.

There’s a FANTASTIC reference to the books which completely blew my mind!! Outside Oxenfurt there’s a group of soldiers and a merchant who is showing off a Basilisk in a cage, Geralt probes and proves that it isn’t a Basilisk but a very young and sickly Wyvern. The soldiers start shouting at the merchant for conning them and the Wyvern escapes from the cage and you kill it. On my 9th play-through today I noticed that if you’ve cleaned out all the Nekker nests by the wind mill by the Everec estate, later when you go back to get the rose from Iris there will be a sign posted near the Fast Travel post. The miller says that he is hiring laborers because there’s more land to work since the nekkers have been cleaned out. Just another cool little detail from Geralt’s efforts.

Honestly vlodimirs story is quite tragic, ignoring the raiding and killing ( which for the people of the story wasn't outside the realm of morality) he really did want to make all those around him happy and live fulfilling lives. Especially when he meets the happy couple and pushes the husband to be to help his wife finish her schooling.

Regarding Gaunger O'Dimm being everywhere, his secondary theme can also be heard just out of the blue when you're in the Novigrad/Oxenfurt outskirts. I take that as a sign of his omnipresence as well, as if he could just be sitting on a tree branch above looking at us when we are strolling the fields or something. I could never visually see him in these moments though, but I don't think I even need to, the music just makes me know he's there. By the way, this use of leitmotif is one of the most wonderful in gaming (or movies for that matter). His primary theme, the one kids are singing, is also a brilliant way to introduce it to us. They make that hard to miss, and that's one nice achievement for storytelling in an open-world game.

Quick thing with the note that reveals that Van Rogh was the pen name of Lady Iris von Everec - the author of the note talking about painting restoration is “Han Van Meegeren” who was a real person. Jan Van Meegeren was a notorious Dutch art forger in the 1930s and 1940s who was so talented that several of his works were confirmed to be genuine works by Vermeer by world experts. He even managed to swindle Herman Goring himself out of a great deal of money buying one of his ‘’masterpieces” during the German occupation for which he was tried after the war as a nazi collaborator during which he came out as this great art forger and has become kind of a Dutch folk hero and the bane of art dealers everywhere. Amazing little reference tucked away by CD Projekt RED for those in the know!

Then you go back to the wedding and you can juggle. P.s. i dont know if the boar is needed its probably just any type of fight and you may even be able to kill him without any sort of fight starting

To get the information about selling the painting you have to point at the right painting when this one guy asks you about which one is of Van der Knoob. The information about the eagle is given by the auction guy when he presents it to the audience, though he doesn't say you have to dismantle it to get the treasure inside.

No doubt someone has mentioned this already, but just in case there are a few more lines you can get from Vlodimir if you raid the Flaming Rose bandit camp near the Von Everec crypt. I can't remember them all nor could I find them anywhere, but once you kill all the bandits he says something like: *Insert what he says upon engaging the bandits here* "My, My! What a fine show, Witcher!" *Reading the ledger on a nearby bench* "Do you know how much fisstech they have here?! Why, you could buy half of Temeria!"

I just love how they thought about how you could (and allowed you to) play the DLCs before finishing the main game and had all the dialogue ready for pretty much all circumstances. That Vesemir lover bit was brilliant and heartbreaking. You're God's gift to the Witcher universe with all those videos since there's no damn way I could replay this game enough to experience every single possible variation. It's insane.

11:59 I find it hilarious the auctioneer tells the person to enjoy a refreshment during the intermission meanwhile Geralt is over there snacking and drinking away. I find it even funnier to imagine those refreshments were alcohol as with Geralt's witcher mutations, I doubt they'd affect him much unless he had a lot of them. So Geralt deciding the auction was boring decides to get wasted and drinks everything

These videos are fascinating. They just further illustrate how rich this game is, showing many cutscenes and dialogue trees that many players never otherwise see. (I certainly haven't seen a lot of them, and I've played through the game and expansions several times. About to play another NG+, in fact.) Just incredible how much work and writing was put into this.

Man, I'm on my 5th or 6th play through right now after not playing for a few months, and like everyone else I still am amazed at the amount of content I've missed even after playing so much. I don't know if you or anyone else has noticed this, as I haven't yet seen all of your current 'Things You Missed' videos, but I figured out during my current play through that in the forests (doesn't matter if it's Velen or Novigrad, though I haven't made it to Toussaint to confirm it there yet) whenever you come across a hollowed out tree stump or log on the ground, 9 times out of 10 there will be coins in it. Just about every time I've tried it I've gotten anywhere from 150-300+ coins from searching. It's helped me whenever I'm low on coins instead of selling off my weapons, old armor, or any of the books I've already read.
