@@combatdentist dark funeral is favorite bm band but they are better than burzum just for the " violence ". For the atmosphere, song meaning... burzum is better.

Most of them are already in my playlist.

Journey to the End not only is my favourite black metal song, it is also my favourite track of all times and all genres. Rest in Valhalla Valfar.

I 100% agree. Journey to the end feels like all the best black metal riffs put together into 1 3:38 black metal song, and it is genuinely metal perfection. So far, no other track has beaten it, although Travelers by The Square is a close second (it's jazz fusion, not metal, but still).

@DEATHKLAAT I like to share my opinion, help people find something new and also find new music myself through suggestions of the viewers. Sure Venom may have started this metal subgenre, but just because something is the first it doesn't mean it's the best. By your logic nobody should talk about anything if he wasn't alive when something was first introduced. We should stop sharing opinions about classical musicians like Beethoven, Mozart etc because we were not alive back then right? You clearly have an opinion that the origins was raped and my opinion is that the origins evolved into something much better. Each to their own.

Magnus of Dark Funeral is easily one of the most powerful singers of any genre . I saw him go on right before Cannibal Corpse in 2002 and Corpsegrinder had nothing on him . Which I s saying something because up until that performance I was not a BM fan at all .

The fact that many black metal fans and artists alike put Bathory on top of their list both in terms of influence and personal taste should be enough for anyone to identify the whole "True Norwegian Black Metal" brand as a Swedish invention in all but name. 😊

They had Sigh in this list, which is a Japanese band. And Watain which is Swedish... and im sure some more im missing. But I agree, there is a lot of good black metal outside of norway too

Nargaroth is a german band and Dissection, Marduk, Dark Funeral, Watain and Bathory are from Sweden. Sigh are from Japan and Deathspell Omega is a french band .. 😊 but the other bands are Norwegian

And they are super cool dudes. Was working as a steward at Graspop Metal Meeting over a decade ago and ended up drunk dancing on the backstage party venue tables with a couple of guys who went all out. Then discovered it was the DB guys in their regular outfits. Legendary night. 😊

They are in other lists that I've made. But if I would remake any of these lists I would delete those bands from all of them because now after listening to black metal much longer I've come to the conclusion that mgla and batushka are both big piles of stinking and steaming bantha poo.
