«20-30 meters to Russians» - Ukrainian army on defensive on Donbas
Since March, the positions near Avdiivka have been defended by the soldiers of the 110th separate mechanized brigade named after Lieutenant General Marko Bezruchko, which was formed during the full-scale Russian invasion to Ukraine. For the ninth month infantrymen of one of the units have been holding back the Russian offensive in the Avdiivka direction. hromadske visited the positions of the military, who daily repel enemy attacks. The 28-year-old unit commander with callsign "Warr" says he is proud of his subordinates - many of whom are older than him - and has no doubt in the unit's ability to hold the line.

I don't speak Ukrainian, or even Russian, but I would be very happy to serve with a unit commanded by such a leader. I've also noted that Ukrainian soldiers are quick to adopt and care for cats and dogs left abandoned and homeless by the Russians. It's a two-way thing. A cuddle with a cat or dog in cold and difficult conditions makes a huge difference to both the animal and the lucky soldiers.

This is so enlightening to us. I’m in Australia and this really helps me to see the situation better. Your men are so very brave and inventive. The orcs cannot defeat them. What a wonderful example of leader this young man is. I pray every day for an end to this horrific war. All peoples should be at home, raising their families, leading their lives, not fighting a war in which no one will win.
What brave men, and thank you to the press team for these stories - takes a lot of guts to go right up to the front like that, but it is important work, letting people see what is really going on up close.

@@user-ss9tb4pt7c Thank you for telling me. I know a hundred or so are in England helping train Ukrainians. One of our men, Corporal Dominic Abelen, was recently killed in action in the Donbas and his body was taken by Russians before the Ukrainians he was fighting alongside could retrieve it. Now, even though our government has sent money and equipment, the ministry of defence has forbidden serving soldiers from going as, it will be too hard to bring them home if they are killed. l'm glad to hear some have gone anyway. What is happening in your beautiful Ukraine and to your beautiful people, breaks my heart. I hope you find some peace and somewhere safe to be over Christmas.

Поздно..это еще вчера снимали..сегодня утром 12ч ваших привезли..три девки с ними..Мыкол в комендатуру передали..девок пока оставили в баню мытся загнали...вечером решим что дальше делать..дивчины дюже гарные..воспитывать будем...

It would make so much difference to have a smart, thoughtful commander like these guys have. Everything from keeping the trenches dry, to outsmarting the enemy - this guy's on top of it.
