Update on Charlotte: She is alive and well, and is turning 16 this month. She appears to have grown quite significantly - in fact even a bit taller than other primordial dwarfs I’ve seen (some recent photos show her to be taller than a door handle, so about 3’6). According to parents, Charlotte is essentially non-verbal. She makes some vocalizations that are not intelligible. There is no updated footage of her available online and will not likely be in the future (Many people have been asking for years).

With Charlotte reaching 16 years of age and growing to 3foot, 6 inches is truly remarkable. It is obvious that the family is a loving and thriving family. The brain is an amazing part of the body. The brain can generate new nuerons to connect with other parts of the brain. I believe Charlotte and her family are experiencing a good quality of life. God bless them and protect them .

This whole family is amazing. Total respect for all of them.

I understand she's like 16, now but even from this video, she still seemed pretty active & attentive, even with being behind on milestones. You could tell she had a lot of energy & wanted to do things.

Charlotte's father is a minority in fathers . When I became a father of a severely disabled daughter I did the next right thing throughout her childhood . At that time ( 1980s) the statistics showed 80% of fathers leave the marriage when confronted with a child with disabilities . So he is a real man .

I’ve seen a few programs on Charlotte and how her parents treat her the same way they treat their other children with no special treatment is commendable. Charlotte is a true part of this family and is treated as such. Always treated like the rest only in smaller capacity. Love this family’s outlook on life

Charlotte is now 15 years old! When she was crawling at the end it was as if she knew the great news! So very sweet! I wonder if there is an update on Charlotte and her family?

Yes, I'd like to know what she looks like now, and how she deals with life in general.

I’m as we would say “normal “ but with EDS and I didn’t walk until 19 months old. At that time nothing to worry about. I grew up, went through college, got my degree in occupational therapy, worked 35 years and now can’t work due to my disability. I was married and had 3 children. I wish I could have worked longer but my body didn’t hold up longer. Please everyone do what you can while you can.

_"Do what you can while you can."_ Yes! Wise advice. 👍🏽 I don't have EDS but I was unusually small until I hit puberty at age 17, which was very late compared to my parents and other family members. So for almost all of my teenage life, I was way smaller than other kids my age, and also I have extremely flexible joints. Flexible joints and small size became very useful when I became an adult, though! I started working in disaster response -- I could navigate tiny, narrow spaces in the rubble, to search for people, spaces that were way too small for any of my coworkers. ☺️

@@zxyatiywariii8 there are 13 types of EDS Ehlers Danlos syndrome. The main part of this syndrome is hyper mobility of your joints and flexibility. This sounds like you. I was not diagnosed until I started to have the chronic pain issues in my late 40s after I had, both of my knees replaced. But I’ve had it my whole life. The reason why I didn’t walk until late was the hyper mobility I had as a baby kept my muscles with lower tone.

As a child in school in Glasgow, late sixties early seventies I remember a classmate! Just like a beautiful doll, so tiny and so fragile x her name was Lucinda. She was so delicate and beautiful. I often think of her even now.❤❤

I’ll admit, I’m not a kid person, but this has me in 😭😭. These precious little ones are loved. ❤

that was only a speculation isn't it? there is actually no update from them since 2015.

The sister probably doesn’t want to say anything to her mother about needing attention because she’s afraid she’ll stress her out more than she already is. It would probably actually be good for mom to get out and spend time with her other daughters and leave the little one behind for a few hours.

I totally agree. I'm on the flip side of that situation, I have three kids 2 have marfans and one doesn't. I had to spend a lot of time living in the children's hospital with My eldest Daughter, it's only now that my youngest is 11yo that I can see the mental health issues that have come about from not enough attention and all the worrying she's done in her early years (I have marfans also) I'm balancing everything better these days and she's seeing someone to work through things....getting there.

@@pascalswager9100 It must be impossible, when you are right in a challenging situation, to deal with everyone how you'd like to. As with so much in life, later we often think about what we "could or should" have done differently. But could we have? Sometimes talking things through with children - even afterwards - can really help them see that you did what was your best at the time. I am sure they know they are loved: you are thinking about how they have been impacted after all.

I'm happy she apparently is 16 now, wow, good for her and ger family.

@@motaesolo5995 well I looked it up. I'm not seeing much about her death. Just one article. You could be right and me wrong. I apologize if I was wrong. There were other stories about her death. From a few years ago. So I assumed.

I remember seeing this documentary years ago and it just popped up for me again. I just did some googling and see that she just passed on May 4th, 2024. It’s incredible that she lived 17 years with such a rare condition. My deepest condolences to her family- she was such a beautiful spirit. ❤

What a lovely family! Not just the parents (although they are lovely) but also Charlotte’s siblings and grandparents. The way her siblings talk about her is so loving and you can tell the parents have patiently answered all their questions. I wish them all the very best 💚

There should be another one made for Charlotte now, it would be amazing to see how far she has come xx

I agree I would like to be updated and see how they are doing this poor little girl had me in tears. By the grace of God I've got two normal healthy grown boys and three healthy teenage grandchildren. You never know when you have a child if they're going to be born with a handicap or you know just regular. My heart always goes out to the families that have children that have special needs

The fact that the MRI could help confirm the diagnosis of MOPD 2 should mean that they get it to have the MRI done asap instead of dicking around and risking the chance of strokes like that other girl who had to wait until she was 10 years old for the MRI and by then it was too late. The scan can help confirm the diagnosis, not the other way around. It just seems backwards and cruel.

I started as a volunteer in a center for young people with multiple disabilities and now I work there. I am happy to be paid to take care of people as unique as these and as beautiful.

I could watch this over and over again because she is just absolutely the cutest little thing ever I know she's much older now but like how can anyone not love this tiny girl ❤️ I wish I could have met her at this age and size

This is by far the most inspiring story ive watched.. salute to the family for their strength and bravery and for charlotte who has remained a darling angel amidst all the struggles she and her family went thru.. trully inspirational god bless all of you.. hope to see more of her now she has grown up!!

She is precious, a real living doll. I love how good her sister's are so cute with her.

? The children born with this all look the same, the girls. For some reason, they all have the red hair but boys come in all shapes and colors.

How heart breaking to hear the sisters saying they were not being seen and felt sad as all the attention went to Charlotte.... traumatising done unintentionally.

I saw a picture on Facebook from last year (2022). She looks so cute and has grown a lot. A real happy end ❤

Charlotte is a beautiful little girl, lovely hair and skin colors. She's got one heck of a family support system.

Can we appreciate what a lovely family and what loving parents Charlotte has ? Charlotte smiles when she reaches a milestone I think she understands that her parents worry for her because when her Mom cried at the hospital she stated crying too. When they were getting ready for convention she said momma 3 times and when she began crawling she had a little smirk like I'll show you what I can do. She's a little fighter and I love that they never gave up. My mom is 4'10" and my niece is 4'3' and they are just short but they were times when people have been rude to them about their size and I feel over protective but they're tough ladies and so will Charlotte be

It brought tears to my eyes when I heard her diagnosis, to know she can live to adulthood is such wonderful news. Such a beautiful, strong little girl, she’s absolutely amazing! My 15 year old daughter would love to meet her as would I! God bless Charlotte and her entire family 💕

When I first saw Charlotte I just fell in love with her. I was so happy she did not have type 1. Yeah Charlotte I can't wait to see more updates on her.

I am so moved by the love that Charlotte’s family surrounds her. ❤ and I do understand that this beautiful person needs all the attention and care in the world. But I also noticed that the other three girls need that too.
