I’ve read, those cut rings are reuseable if not deformed, that’s why you can buy the gaskets separately without the rings.

Wouldn't you have to deck the head anyway to use a traditional headgasket after the cut ring headgasket? I'm just thinking if you didn't send the head in what would do?

traditionally yes you would, the options were leave the head on or remove, machine and replace.

I gotta do this on my e46 🤣 every 300 miles this things got sum else leaking or overheating
