Nothing like making it to squats and 185lbs feeling like 405lbs. My legs are just as fried, but my joints don't hurt. John's later programs really pushed the pre exhaust .

I miss leg workouts, I play more hockey now so I tried to avoid weight training my legs so I can keep up. One of the nice things breaking from hockey once and awhile.

I dont think completely eliminating legs is the way to go man, definitely no crazy sessions close to competition but once a week relatively moderate intensity should actually help your athletic performance once you adapt and arent getting too sore from training

Hello Antoine. I have been following you for more than 12 years. I'm sure there are many more years than I mentioned. For me, you are one of the best bodybuilders of the last 20 years. I mean it and seeing the new generations that have invaded our sport, I stand by it. I wish you the best of luck at the Arnold Classic. I hope one day I can travel to Canada and meet you, but whatever the case, I wish you the best. A big hug from Spain.

I always do my leg extensions before I squat. Once I focused on doing leg 🦵 extensions first and doing my squats afterwards the definition in my quads improved drastically 🦵

Question , I see a lot of pros do leg press with that range of motion ,where as the Renaissance guys do crazy range ,is it just a matter of your legs are so big that's your range ,or you connect better in that tension range?

play around with it and see which one feels the best! dont stick to just one thing, switch things up from time to time!

  • @SmoothHandle

The primary purpose for quads is knee flexion: generally the more the knee flexes, the more tension in the quads. So, to flex the knees as much as possible, go as deep as u can comfortably (not risking serious injury to lower back) in any quad movement - squats, presses, extensions. The reason why the typical gym bro doesn’t go deep on leg movements (or any movement, for that matter) is bc of laziness and/or ego-lifting short ROM.

  • @vttrpersonal7329

Can't speak for the off-season, but this close to a show, you wanna limit ROM a little bit to reduce risk of injury. Especially on the big weight movements (such as leg press).

@@vttrpersonal7329 I think if ur always using that deep ROM, the risk is mitigated. But that’s just my opinion.
