2 WEDDINGS in ONE WEEKEND in Turpan, Xinjiang! 🐫 🍇 去了一趟吐鲁番,竟然偶遇了两场婚礼!!!

Ойын-сауық

Xinjiang, I'm BACK! This was a short trip, just a few days - but still long enough to cram in not one, but TWO weddings! How did this happen?? Watch and find out!!
No political comments plz! I am not interested in hosting a political debate in my comment section, take it elsewhere! 评论区不欢迎政治争吵
We traveled and filmed this video independently without any government/media affiliation. Contrary to popular belief, foreign passport holders do not need a permit to travel in Xinjiang, with the exception of a few border regions.

Thanks Kat for sharing the festive wedding in Turpan. This brought back so many childhood memories, especially the music by those grandpas. 😊I had never been to a Uyghur wedding but we can all remember the music played on the back of a truck (that had not changed) coming and going many blocks away! My hometown is Urumqi which is not far from Turpan but I had only visited Turpan once. It was during the hottest days of summer, I remembered it was 44C (110F) degrees. However, we mostly stayed under miles and miles of grape vines and the stream of irrigation provided by Qanat (坎儿井)kept us cool. Turpan is a special place to visit no matter the season, if you know where to look. (BTW, those grandpas were probably gossiping about Aysajan and you.😅 That habit probably transcends cultures and countries.) Can’t wait for your next Xinjing VLog! (Maybe Ili 伊犁?)❤

Uyghurs are a mix of Persians (Tajiks, Tuhuoluos), Han Chinese, and Mongolians. Han Chinese paternal genes account for 21%. Mongolians, Turks, Khitans, and Uighurs account for 6.1%. The other 60% are from Persia. So the wedding customs should be similar to those of Persia and Tajiks.

There are 56 ethnic groups in China, 55 of which are ethnic minorities. The Chinese government gives many preferential treatments to the 55 ethnic minorities. For example, they can go to school for free for 3 more years than the Han people(12 years or even 15 years for minorities, Han people only have 9 years free education ), and it is easier for them to go to good universities (even if their grades are not so good). The government also helps people in poor areas build houses for free and distributes various electrical appliances to them for free.

@@ChichiShu Elvis Presley was a box office star. My uncle took me (I was a kid about 10 or 11) and my brother to see a movie Loving You with Lizabeth Scott and Wendel Corey. When Elvis appeared in blue jeans on stage to sing Love Me Tender all the girls screamed. I didn't understand it at all as he didn't seem so special to me. My uncle also took us to see Bill Haley and All Around the Clock. I thought those rockers were crazy shaking and moving to music. But it introduced me to fast music. I was truly surprised. This was the first time rock and roll appeared in the world. Movies are made to make money. Any person with star power i.e. can capture an audience or fans with looks and talent can be a movie star. People go to see Dilraba because she is beautiful. What more can one expect. There aren't too many people in China who are beautiful. Most Chinese are short and ugly just like me.

Their visit also to one of the largest horses city as they reported that fine horses are important to the cavalry in the old days. They reported that horse auctions could fetch more than millions dollars a fine horse! Hope you can visit more of the cities in Xinjiang as each city has a bit of the characteristics!
