This is Xinjiang without all the problems. You could do this for literally any place on earth. How many videos exist of Australian outback nature and mountains, without including the oil and fracking sites, mining operations, and ecological damage those do. You don't see this in Western media, because media (referring to the news), isn't a travel channel ... Every country has great and horrible things. Neither by itself is representative of the entire country or area. Context matters.

When those three men invited you to eat with them and then go to KTV, it just reminded of some of my chinese friends that i have made. The fact that China is one of the very few countries that actually provide better perks for their minorities, considered how big China is especially the population and culture variants, it's remarkable for China to keep everything in a peaceful and stable manner, this is why the Western can't hold themselves from making up stories and lies just to make China look bad internationally, they struggled to believe how fast China could grow and how well China can manage their citizens, and the funny thing is nowadays even UK locals don't trust BBC anymore 😂

The "I won't let you pay the bill" is a very Chinese thing. Often if there are two or more families, their head figure will rush to paid the bill at a party end before anyone else. Even for strangers if you act polite and remain good mannered they may treat this to you.

I am a minority ethnic Chinese of Tujia, I also have some friends from XingJiang, in fact my godfather is a Xingjiang resident, but we just live in a same life as the Han Chinese, the 56 ethnic groups is just a special characteristic about china, but doesn’t really make any difference in our daily life. The only difference is my ethic group’s name shows on my ID card, and I can get extra 10 point in most every big national exam, because I am the theoretically minority.

My mom just came back from Xinjiang for work inspection before her retirement. Xinjiang is a really nice and beautiful place. “三山夹两盆” is the topography there which means two basins - Tarim Basin and Junggar Basin are wrapped by three mountains - the Altai Mountains, the Tianshan Mountains and the Kunlun Mountains. Xinjiang has the lowest altitude in China, while the neighbour Tibet has the highest altitude in the world. So amazing and fantastic!❤

And another big difference is public school is better than the private, no matter your family is rich or not, all can study in the same school. Everyone can access to the top universities if you like studying. There is no the word discrimination here if you visit China, you can feel it at the time❤

Anyone who joined those terrorists groups in person or online, were sent to re-education center, not only teach them the truth, law, but also language, arts, music and different working skills they prefer, all for free. (Guess how much the government have to pay). Luckily, after about 3-4 years, all Xinjiang is safe now. @@ericliu8865 What's the homelessness rate in China? Oh that's right they don't even make that information publicly accessible.

I really miss my hometown! The familiar streets in Urumqi! I still remember the opening days of the first KFC in Xinjiang about 20 years ago. The KFC in the video is exactly that one. Cool! Because of the pandemic, I haven't been home for more than 3 years. Now, China is open again! It's time to take a vacation and go back. I would also like to invite all my friends to visit Xinjiang and know more about it with own eyes. That is a beautiful place with kindly people and mixed cultures! Welcome!
