German here. We have a great health care system where you get an appointment on the same day at the pediatrician. Even then, I wasn't sure whether I should go or not because I didn't want to be the helicopter mom who went to the doc for "nothing"with my little baby, until our pediatrician said the following : The only regret you'll ever have, is when you didn't go to see a doctor for your child, when you should have. We'd rather you come and see us one time too often than just one instance too late. That really gave me peace of mind and that's how I handled it from then on.
I love story time and cooking, not only do we get good food to replicate but we also get some life lessons that we can totally relate to no matter what our ethnicity!!😊💞🍜🍛🥟

Thank you so much!
I have a 1 year old niece and I’m obviously gonna do the advice from aunty like you do, I wanna be a good aunt like you! When I show her something cool ( when I mean cool it’s usually nerdy) she’s like 😐 but I know she loves me as we both often cuddle and sneak chocolate together and go on walks which is her favorite so I’m hoping being an amazing aunty like you ❤️

Oh I LOVE that!!! Being the cool aunt sometimes means being the nerdy one, too!!
So glad your mom did listen to your grandma in the end 💕
I'm fascinated by your cooking and love hearing your stories. You make me feel like I'm sitting down with a long time friend, it feels like home.

Well, that makes me so so happy. I haven't head a proper dinner party in over a year, so I love creating dinner parties on YT!
I'm so grateful that you popped up on my KZread feed couple weeks ago. I've been watching so many of your videos lately and I just love your story time. Your voice is so soothing to listen to you and I love the wisdom. Thank you for another great story. I think of my nana every single day since she has passed.
Great food + life lessons = perfect combo
Love the food as always and also love to hear about grandma. She sounds like someone who was very caring and wise.
I always love your story time videos. Often I find myself reflecting on something from one of your stories, sometimes days or weeks later. You put so much into this world, thank you!
The preparation of the food, the story telling, all so captivating! 🙏🏾🖤🥰

You are so so amazing! The amount of talent in this video is unlimited! Loving your recipes, stories and cinematography from India.
I could just listen but also enjoyed the beautiful video
Omg... that bubbly red hot cauldron of Korean flavors ♡
I love your stories, my dear Korean auntie. And of course the food!!
Thank you for sharing such wonderful stories. As a Korean person, they warm my heart. Perhaps in future videos recipes for vegan dalkgalbi or gamjatang could be shared? Thank you for everything!
Binge watching your videos at 3am and I'm starving. Lol Thanks! But you also have me wanting to declutter my utility drawer in my kitchen. You cooking with only chopsticks makes me think I've over complicated soo much when it comes to cooking. Oh and the cherry on top is that I'm pregnant and craving Asian foods. Nothing is opened though 😩
This channel deserves more attention
You have no idea how much I like your videos !
Is it weird that I was feeling two opposite feelings at the same time? My heart was dropping listening to the story about your health scare while simultaneously my mouth was watering as I watched you cook. LOL. I’m so glad you’re here to tell your story and share your cooking!! Thank you!! 🙏😇
I got goose bumps from your story
You never fail to touch my heart in every video, truly one of the best content creators on KZread.
Your food looks so delicious and I honestly want to explore the world of asain cuisine so much because you. Not only that but I feel like listening to your stories enriches my soul. I feel like you’re a mentor to me. Never stop the amazing things you do
Watching this at 3.30am ♥
Wonderful story! I, too, think of my grandparents often; especially, my grandmother on my Mother's side. I miss them so much and was very blessed to have them almost into my early 40's! The tofu stew looks ahh-mazing! By the way...how did you make or buy those noodles? Was that tofu? I know it wasn't the soft or silken tofu, but curious how you unrolled that square into ribbon noodles. 🤔 Thanks so much in advance! Absolutely LOVE your plethora of stories! ~Your fan in FL🌴 ✌ Oh..P.S. 35th comment!!! LOL

Hi Beth! Check out the recipe on my blog. It links to the tofu rolls which I sliced into “noodles”!
Ok I want to appreciate for a moment that this quality content is free... I mean I learned so much on KZread about others cultures and especially you helped me getting better at cooking without meat or vegan! Thank you✨ You are really inspiring. (Sorry my english isn’t the best)
Thanks for verbalizing the mixed feelings I had growing up as a Chinese American in a rural, mostly white and Hispanic town. This prejudice towards my parents' culture translated to lowkey self loathing because the stuff I criticized my parents for were oftentimes things I believed in or understood the reasoning for myself. It's been a confusing journey but I'm glad to know we're not alone.
Love this! Consider with an open ❤️. Yes.
Awww, i am a huge tofu fan and the story of your grandma how she saved your life was just amazing!! We have this saying in China too, an older person is the treasure of the house. Hope your grandma is still doing well. Please keep these videos coming
Everything looks so good!❤️❤️❤️
Period joanne!!! I love your content and you've inspired me to explore my culture's cuisines :) delicious recipes as always!!
I love soon dubu so much it’s so good
I always enjoy story time and cooking time with you. Thank you for your great videos!
Beautiful!
An excellent story, and told so well. Thanks for sharing.
that looks soo good!
Beautiful recipes, as always. I also love your stories, so full of wisdom and love.
I appreciate the stories that you share!! They resonate a lot, especially with my own experiences
Just love every aspect of your videos!! Keep ‘em coming!! 💖💖💖
I love your stories...they especially resonate with me as someone who grew up with immigrant Asian parents. Thank you for sharing!
You had me at hot pot. :)

Hahahaha, you are a person after my own heart!
I love your stories so much!!! I’m going to the try to tofu soup!! Looks so yummy!
Joanne, I really enjoy listening to your story just as much as I enjoy watching you cook.
I am Indian, and I can relate. You now caused me to think about how I look at my parent's advice with prejudice since "they didn't go to an American school."
Thank you 😭 I needed that take away from the story. Love your video style so much
Okay I seriously LOVE your unique style of cooking and storytelling. I am a young mom and I definitely relate to your mom…I probably would’ve done the EXACT same things. I brush off a lot of what my family and in laws say and usually find it annoying when they tell me what to do…this video gave me something to think about..AND the bonus of something to cook later. Lol. Thank you for being you and putting out this amazing content ❤️
Amazing story and amazing food!
Your food is amazing. I like medicine but I love eastern medicine and natural medicine. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe
Thank you! I've been looking for ways to do Korean soft tofu stew with no meat!
Well this is my new favourite channel.
ahhhh yes when we are young we can be very dismissive…. you would be a great audiobook reader hehe you carry emotions in your voice very well :) thanks for the advice!
Hi. I’m not a vegan, I already tried a few of your recipes, really enjoyed the yubuchobap and ramyun! Thank you.
Feeling very thankful your grandmother listened to her own instincts on your behalf; we would not have the benefit of our Auntie’s life advice, stories… your voice. I feel so grateful for the love, support, and guidance from my own mom. I find it difficult to put into words, how much she means to me. It was not always this way. We had to work very hard, to find ways to connect, communicate, and agree to disagree, sometimes. Much of that difficulty had to be overcome, because of the disrespect my father directed towards my mother, especially her origins, throughout my childhood, before he ultimately dumped her, unceremoniously, after nearly 30 years of marriage, and without warning. I, recently, gave my mom the gift of taking her maiden name, to honor her and dissociate from my father.
Absolutely love Tofu 💘❤💕.
Oh wow that story is so scary! And also the food looks so delicious 🤤
Mam I breath out a breath which I can't hold I am from India I belong to completely vegetarian food culture and caste religion in India I recently moved to Daejeon as foreign exchange student but as I am vegetarian it was very hard to eat food I used frequently pass out becz in Daejeon which restaurant or hotel or any food place if I go also their was directly or indirectly non vegetarian food like meet or sea food or fish sauce egg literally it was being such a difficult for me then I started to cook for myself but in Korea the Indian products used for cooking was not available but somehow I started to make korean vegan side dishes and used to eat same 2 dishes for a whole month but today like gof u came mam tqsm 🥰🥰🥰🥰🙏🙏🥺🥺here all I my type food I can easily see and look in korean style please make more vegetarian recipes it helps a lot for vegetarian ppl and other also can stay fresh and healthy tqsm 🙏🙏
Please tell me you have a restaurant, I want two orders of everything 👍💪🍜
My sister nearly died from menengitis when she was 3 months old. My mom slept at the hospital for days and days. The calls to the family were made. She survived, though, and is a happy 40something.
💛💛💛
Now let's discuss how did you open up those noodles like that and what is the specific ingredient for the noodle
🥺🥺🥺🥺 man elders are like children, you always have to heed warnings, they are more intuitive than most of us.
I love eating straight from the cooking pot too! Why create extra dishes to wash right? Lol ... thank you for sharing your life story :)
I just discovered your channel. I was excited to tell my adopted Korean daughter about you, but she responded, "I know, isn't she eloquent?"
My mom doesn’t like tofu (or anything vegan) but I’m gonna try to make the stir fry for her CV
I will be a video if I wasn’t addicted to meat I love your stories and how do you cook
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
where do i get the tofu rolls at?
I wish you would open a restaurant
I love your stories but really want instructions and ingredients
Chatty patty
First
I just have a small critique: the captions for the ingredients are too small
I don't have a child but I think it's crazy to wait a couple days to go to the doctor. In Germany you can always go the same day you feel sick. I really can't wrap my head around this, it is so dangerous and exhausting to be left alone with that, or am I crazy?
Am I the only one who hears a southern accent when she says "United"?
Nom
Second
Me living in Romania where tofu is expensive as fuck :’(
I wish I was your roommate
Oh I thought it was going to be a recipe video but we get redirected to a website. I prefer to see a recipe rather than read it bc it just helps better to have a visual guide but the aesthetic is nice I guess. Got misled by the title lol
nice nails
Is it just me who gets upset when she post a video without story time ?
No more stories wanna hear you talk about the food
