I'm a big fan of yamaha. Their motors have always been extremely reliable. The lectron by itself really wakes up a lot of bikes throughout the powerband and i'm really surprised at how well that entire kit wakes up that 125. The lectron, paired with v-force 3 reeds, turbine core 2 and a gnarly pipe brings all of the torque out of my 98 cr250.

Yep, my dad has a 14' beta rr 300. he bought it new and now it has 1300 Hours on the odometer, only engine repairs ever were: -a new clutch and piston every 400 hours - it has the 2nd spark plug in it so about 1000h on one spark plug thats it, no new bearings or cylinder. This beast of an engine will certainly outlive the frame since we do a lot of hardenduro riding and you can only weld the frame a couple times before bad stuff happens lol

Nobody says that lol. My 2 stroke is older then my 4 stroke and I ride both equally and maintained both equally and the 4 stroke causes the most amount of issues out of any other 2 stroke ive ever seen. My 2 stroke also has had less work done to it, like having to clean the carb and all that. So I must say 4 strokes are much more of a hassle then 2 strokes. And 2 strokes are easier to maintenence then a 4 stroke considering how much lighter and easier things travel on the 2 strokes

40 years of rebuilding 2 strokes.. I'd say the hardest part for a beginner is properly taking apart the power valve and putting it back together right. The arrow on the piston always points towards the exhaust direction. 3/8 drive torque wrench is the only expensive tool you absolutely need. Biggest tip.... extremely clean bike is a must... if any sand drops inside the engine... thats really bad. So wash it really really clean.

Sounds like the Mx head will be good for you if your main goal is to improve top end. You’ll probably lose a bit of bottom but not much. It will also help smooth the mid range which should still retain some tractability!

150 hours. . . I have nsr125 with 80k km, never done any rebuilds on anything, starts always, runs beautifuly. If 10 hours would be 1k km, so mine should have then 800 hours. 150 hours, 50 hours? Lol, who told u to rebuild engine at that? Change the piston ring if u think u will get more hp, change that seal if it's leaking. U, americans either do not understand mechanics, or u have some paranoid at such quick rebuilds. I don't know, if ur piston goes away at 50 hours, just put then more oil in gas! 20:1 or so. Why follow stupid recomendations on 33:1, 40:1, 50:1 ?

  • @nissan_6828

bro ik what u mean, but you gotta understand some people rebuild at 50 hours cause they want to keep the bikes power at its peak, that’s because some might race or some just wanna get faster and want their bike to pull at its full potential. also it’s a race built engine ur nsr will always last longer mate. but some people run even single ring pistons which might last even less than two ring ones. ur bike will lose power quite a bit if u dont rebuild much, especially when track riding wide open on a 125
