I remember Hayley taking a big hit at a game in 2019, and I was a new fan. The stadium gasped in unison. I asked why and someone was like she broke her back. She’s such a champ.

Look at 12:11 on video time. It is the replay. Keepers are taught to go up with their knee up to protect themselves. However, that applies when going up, not forward. The keeper leads with the knee...that is a strike, serious foul play.red card. The term 'all ball' doesn't negate follow through. Here, the knee fouls before and the followthrough is also a foul. Red and PK.

Yeah, if there was VAR in NWSL, that would be a red. On the replay it’s obvious that the keeper’s knee went into Raso’s back before she got the ball.

As a keeper I disagree. We are taught to put up our knee mainly for power. It doubles as protection. There was no foul, it was just very unfortunate.
