Nice snakes if bitey for the two Marissa removed. But then I wouldn't be too happy if someone hosed me down to wake me up ;) Have a good trip, Bryan, take care.

Walking through snow drifts during the blizzard yesterday, it didn't even cross my mind to look around for rattlesnakes.

I learn a lot about snakes on this KZread channel. There are no venemous snakes where I live in Québec. Now, i have a lot of respect for their contribution to the ecosystem.

One reason I love this channel is its educational value. I always share these with my daughter to show the grandkids so the recognize the snakes & learn how they behave, sound, etc, not lump all snakes in the same category. ,,,And, hopefully, learn how to behave respectfully around them.

I take for granted that I won’t come across them now that it’s so cold here in AZ. Definitely going to be more vigilant with keeping eyes open for them. Especially when I’m doing anything in my beds outside.

Now that I've watched your video (40 degrees in Ariz.), I'm going to have to clear my driveway. I checked my thermometer at the frt. door & it is 24 degrees at noon. That's better than yesterday morning when it was 10 degrees. I checked the weather forecast while watching your video & the weather service is forecasting snow every day for the next week. It looks like we've gotten about 4" - 5" of snow since yesterday. Enjoy your Ariz. weather.

You guys are so cool. This work you do, and how you go about it. The best friends any Phoenix-area rattlesnakes could ever have! 🙂 I never thought I'd love/enjoy a channel like this one so much, but I do! Education, compassion, etc. Almost makes you guys outlier weirdos in 2023-2024, where being a shovel/shotgun-happy shithead is probably more the norm. If you've changed MY mind about these animals, then you've surely changed dozens and dozens, maybe hundreds. Or more? Good work!

Ours are not aggressive in the Southeast (US). They warn if you get too close & retreat if given the chance. Our Guineas scare them off. I don't even look for them anymore.

Happy New Year Bryan! What a long rattle on that Western Diamond Marissa! When releasing in flood areas will the snakes still be safe to brumate? Awesome job releasing these snakes!

Good question. The area we release the snake is in rock used for erosion control, rather than the exact floodplain.

Having been born a raised in snow country, theres a lot to be said about the hormonal changes to a humans system to "climatize" and adapt to cold weather. So, fella, its not YOU nor your "tough" rubberized body, its a typical human response to adaptation to weather conditions. Come and live in better weather for a few years and see how you do. Just spewing scientific facts fella....

We moved to Montana for a major construction project. The construction companies had designated trailer courts for these temporary (3-4 years) workers. Some trailers were put on snake hibernation dens underground. I thought I was being really careful. We moved and stopped at a reptile exhibit, (show? ) in Rapid City. I saw the kind of snakes that were in our area. I had been looking for diamond backs/timber rattlers. Nope. They were very small and brown. I mean really small. I would’ve stepped right on one and not noticed unless I was bit. In my defense I was from the Pacific Northwest. Gardener snakes aren’t poisonous

When you've got 2 or more rattle snakes in 1 bucket striking each other, how much daner are they in from one another.

Never heard of them striking each other, even 2 males fighting for dominance is more of a wrestling match

  • @metalmamasue3680

They might be striking because they're scared, but it's very unlikely that they would be striking at each other. Like was said above, even maIes fighting over a female are basically wrestling for dominance. They don't hurt each other.

I do believe a rattlesnakes venom is deadly to another rattler if its bitten. CBW. But they typically dont bite each other.
