    What can I say?…. Just thought your videos couldn’t get better Rob. I REALLY enjoyed the beautiful scenery as always but I especially loved and truly appreciated the words of wisdom regarding the senseless destruction of our pristine Tasmanian environment. We are so blessed to have this ancient wonderland and I hope everyone sees your video and takes up the fight with the powers to be to save it before it’s too late!! Once it’s gone it’s just another Tassie Tiger…. By the way Rob did I mention that I love that shiny gold stuff too 😁 Keep up the great work!!

    Thankyou for speaking for the forest. There is no recovery from clear felling and burning. The native ecosysyem is gone for centuries, if not forever. Countless rare plants, fungi, soil fauna, often still unidentified are lost, along with all the animals which depend on them. Tasmanias natural heritage is so unique, a tiny remnant of great Gondwanan forests, an Antarctic- like fragment, as it was 30, 000 years ago. It is irreplaceable.

    Feeling the pain Rob, saw the area you were referring to, re forestry sadly they only care about money, so sad for all Tasmanians. I had major brain surgery in the 19/01/2022 it's going to take me a bit to recover, I hope to get back amongst the beautiful forests it's heartbreaking to think I won't get the chance ever again in some areas. Another beautiful creation mate! Respect for calling out the needless destruction, your art and subtlety. If only enough people could really experience such pristine environments, preservation would be a priority. The trip is a pretty perfect example of how minimal impact resource extraction can still be highly profitable, in more ways than just financial. The same for the logging, imagine how few high-value trees removed with minimum impact sold into high-value markets would replace the income of an entire hectare of Eucalyptus. I think there would be plenty of young people crying out for the opportunity to work in such environments, in a truly sustainable fashion, just imagine the mental health benefits 👍👍👍

    So, Rob, the big question is - Does the site still exist or has it been totally devastated? I hear where you coming from mate. A couple of years back, there was some clear felling of some old growth forest on the Cradle Mountain Road proposed. Despite the protests, signed partitions and signed letters from land owners in the area, it still went ahead. When we have such a small percentage of old growth forests left on our planet, you really have to wonder………. Oh, and a good haul there mate.

    hey mate, good work! watched a few of your videos and love seeing our states wild side. As a lad that grew up and lives in New Norfolk I'm very familiar with the logging industry and best mates with a fella from one the renowned logging families in Tasmania. I'm always intrigued at the antics and comments from activists against logging and forestry as all I've ever personally seen is sustainable logging of mostly pine but also hardwood plantations that were planted 30 years prior to being harvested. I've not known or heard of any old growth being cleared or planned to be harvested, and all the footage you see in the media from activists is of mostly pine plantation operations which makes them look very stupid.... Now I'm open minded on the topic, but no one has ever been able to show me actual footage/proof of any old growth harvesting or clearing. Id be interested in learning more about the conservationists side of things but I need solid proof before I can believe anything they say. I think that's why most of the general population don't believe a word the likes of the greens etc. say as they are generally hypocritical. If anyone can enlighten me I'm happy to listen but don't just come with theory's, there needs to be solid proof

  • @nickb1557

    @nickb1557

    2 жыл бұрын

    @ tasmech. Your closed minded. How much proof do you need? Go for a drive before you dispute the destruction of Tasmanian native Forrest's. Your mates family has: had state laws changed to remove free speech about Forestry Tasmanian and protest will have you arrested on the spot. (Unfortunately we beat you Canada) have pushed independent forest workers out of the forests, even a Bullock team doing sustainable and traditional selective logging, adding to state unemployment. As well as burning all the left over old growth timber making sure no independent family run mill can find, use, buy any old growth timber. Then selling them fire wood grade timber so they have no choice but to close. Your mates break the environmental logging laws eg. Logging next to creeks and rivers. Cable log. Assault to protesters, forest enthusiasts, or even any car with a sticker indicating some love of the forest. Even guns have been used by your mates. Forests get locked up, which is against the agreement, public get to see the bush using the roads Forestry Tasmania makes as their payment for the wood harvested. The tourist attractions known about are a lot less than Forestry Tasmania knows about. The public have been kept in the dark about these places, so they can continue destruction with no photos of what has been done. No way to argue for them to stop because of... Even look on Google maps and you can see the destruction. The hybrid gum tree that is planted everywhere results in poison in the creeks and rivers! 80 species or so of crayfish in Tasmania, problem is with the poisons affecting reproduction with all offspring now one sex. What's your deal when their gone? "Well there was no real photos?" Don't be an ostrich mate!

    Great video As usual Rob. You are right, they shouldn’t have the right to clear fell old growth forests and they actually don’t have the right. But money speaks louder than common sense. My dad told me 60 years ago, that I would be able to follow him in the timber industry because it was unsustainable, although not the exact would he used. It is time we’re moved to a future of synthetic product to build our houses and furniture, which we will have to do sometime, so why not now. But the way, those quartz views looked enticing. You certainly put a mile on my face with all that gold and I am very pleased for you. Well done.
