Remote Expedition in Tasmania Leads to a Huge Discovery

In this video I head out the wild and remote region of the Frenchmans Cap in search of a lost historic landmark. Many parties have searched for the landmark and it has been incorrectly identified for several decades. I'll be traversing over vast button grass plains, and climbing over mountain ranges with dense jungle like vegetation in the pursuit of correcting this long lost treasure.

It would be a wonderful addition if you laid a stainless steel plaque stating the name of the place, the dates and people you quoted and please add your name and the date too. Maybe Parks will sponsor your efforts.. 🙄 God bless you Rob and your family.

Being from the UK, I feel that I now know more than ever what Tasmania is like, I know there are towns and cities, the countryside is what I enjoy being in, the feeling of freedom, Rob is so passionate with everything why would anyone want to stop his story telling of history of your fantastic country, its promotional, now retired and worked with a lot of clowns, if its not there suggestion it wrong, if they think your doing a better job than them your name will be put down and any slight mistake will be blown out of all proportion (Parks and Wildlife) That's life as they say. Please never give in to idiots just find a better way, if you can improve the system for others, you've done your job. All the Best for Christmas and the new year, positive thoughts for next year

Epic man. Glad to see you back up in the Frenchmans area. Stuff Parks Tas, what you're doing is way more important than any petty vendetta they might be holding. Re: cramps. I get the same. Consider this another vote for Magnesium, it's helped me heaps. Also, not sure how much you sweat when hiking, but if you do sweat a fair bit, electrolytes will help heaps. Can get sachets to carry on the trail real cheap, I actually dont leave home for a hike without them. Merry Christmas mate!

I’ve often watched your videos (and Levi’s) and wondered why you didn’t use a hammock. I used one on a 7 day trip in Wyoming last year and I’ve slept in it at home ever since - even sold my bed 🤣 keep up the great work. You’re creating a legacy for Scout Your cramps may be due to electrolyte imbalance Finally loved the shots where the camera seemed to be moving as your were walking away or alongside it. I’ve walked French’s a few times. It’s one of my favs. Yeah I walked it before all the track work on the Loddons to and after. It’s made it relatively easy now with the bottom track work. I sorta understand the hard going getting through the tea trees, then button grass where it’s lower but with big holes between clumps and the Jack jumpers on the higher ones need to watch yourself. It’s a sorta clumsy dance getting through. Anyway, I didn’t know this history. Perked my interest as I love this area of Tassie and not many go out this way. Especially the route you went. Thanks for sharing, was a great reminder for me of a countryside I see little of these days. Have moved to Qld now so can’t really pop out for a couple of days in Tassie wilderness.
