I love that my loc lady actually goes on a client by client basis. She told me after looking at my scalp that I should come back for a wash in a month & depending on how much it grows & how my scalp looks she’ll go from there. People workout and get sweaty and do more than others, I’m definitely not wasting 3 months to wash that out my hair 😩

I remember when i seen budding for the first time i was so excited. I could not stop looking at them and touching them. Great video! Your locks are beautiful.

Thanks for this video. I just started my Locs on 9/25/20 I’m so ready for the process and journey.

I’m 2mos in and waited for my first retwist to get a shampoo. I had budding after the first mo and I don’t have the kinkiest of hair. Now I’m budding like crazy after my second retwist. Idky ppl get locs and have hair in hand syndrome but can have box braids and stuff and chill.

Same. I’m mixed race with loose curls was budding after my first month....about to two months next week can’t wait to see the results (I got a design in to help it stay in)

I am approaching 2 mos and I am getting my 1st professional wash/retwist tomorrow! Yay! Great video!

Just locked my hair and after 2 days my shit is itching and dry in some parts

I didn’t have budding until I washed my hair. Spraying and steaming it did nothing. 😂 I washed 5 weeks in.

May 19th is my birthday lol. I started my loc journey 2 weeks ago and it’s got me a little spooked right now but I will stay strong. Your locs look great and it’s given me some courage to keep going!

Started my locs Aug 2020! Child my head was itching so bad, I wanted to stick my head in the freezer. I too wanted to start during quarantine. I’m doing virtual with my kids so I figured since I’m not working full time anymore, I might as well grow locs! I’m already budding! My hair is so thick and I’m loving my process already!

I’m so glad I’ve found your page . I’m in month 2 of my starter locs with two strands and out hair texture is so similar. It’s good to see the outcome of what stage I’m on now which is definitely the fuzzies and my pics trying to marry. I wish they’d divorce each other. It takes forever to find the box I started them in. I don’t care about parts either , but want some kind of pattern. I have been swimming and washed mine too. have lumps in mine and I will try the clip at the end as well. Thank you and your locs are beautiful

I had to wash my hair asap after 3 weeks too lol I know my scalp. I say do what's best for you. I'm going to wash it again at 5 weeks lol

I started my locs, Aug 15, 2020, it was all God, and I am grateful !

I started my own on May 26, 2021, a day before my b-day. N yes going thru the ugly stage, I had put box braids over my locs for like 3 weeks but took em out. I told myself, Chile, embrace this!!! So I try lil dred styles n let it go. But I interlocked mine.

All Things Ken did u two strand twist twist your hair or coil it?

New subbie. In my research, I have learned that if you are going to put oil on your scalp you should only use light oils. Castor oil us just going to sit on your scalp and can cause build up because it catches every piece of dirt, dry scalp flakes, etc. . I don't oil my scalp at all. So, I have not experienced this phenomenon. So, I am just passing on what I have read and heard from professionals. Bless your hair. You are gorgeous.

Depends some people have amazing results with heavy oils like castor oil and olive oil and even apply on their locs with 0 buildup others can’t and have to use light oils

I’m 2months loc’d & i was the same way when my hair started to bud😂 so freaking happy

This is my second set of locs using comb coils (they were 2-strands the 1st time). They are much more frizzy than last time and I was a bit worried. After seeing yours, I feel better cause mine look similar.

Yes people who are starting locks do your research and wash your hair. Washing your hair especially with cold water closes your cuticles and hair follicles allowing them to tighten and tangled up also securing moisture in your hair. Washing 1-2x a month is ideal depending on how physically active you are.

I'm 8 days out and my head was itching so bad this morning 😫. I am thinking about waking my scalp cuz I just can't.

I started my second loc set during this quarantine too! I’m currently 2 1/2 months in!! And it’s sooo exciting to see budding. I forgot how beautiful this process was!!

@@michaelparotte5076 buds are the sections of your loc that begin to look like bulbs (the first sign that your hair is loc’ing). You begin to notice them down the shaft of your loc. They are usually soft when you squeeze it.

They have the rose water concentrate... last so much longer... I just add 3 squirts into my spray bottle and add bottle water... love the locs btw👸🏾

I did the same. Only way to stop itching was washing my hair. My hair is dry so washing my hair help my hair accept moisturizer.

It’s so true I’ve had mine in for about a month and I was contemplating taking them out so then I thought about it let me load my hair up with shampoo and conditioner to make the process of removing them easier and I can’t believe what a difference using conditioner has had on my hair it made them so soft and nice it was unbelievable and I don’t have any residue buildup so I don’t understand the myths of all this As if removing locks would be that easy that you could just throw some conditioner on your hair and your locks were just slip out if that was the case it wouldn’t take people weeks to take them out. I wish when I got them done I would’ve shampooed and conditioned them day one

Congrats on your journey! Looks like you did comb coils first, then did 2 strand twists. I assume that you did the twists to keep the base from separating so much after your first wash--which was a good idea👍🏾

I wish I could say I love it. My hair is dry. I mean it was dry before deciding to loc it up. My hair drinks oil. So I’ve been hiding it under a will.
