    How old is this song, any ideas? The first few bars are the same as Scruggs' Nashville Blues, and I know a version of Ain't Gonna Work Tomorrow that starts the same way.

    The most well known initial version is from Doc Boggs in 1927 - but the song predates that. Yes - Scruggs clearly used it as the basis for Nashville Blues.

    @@fingerstylebanjolessons Iove Doc Boggs. I prefer him over Scruggs by a long mile. Your version is way up there too. I do not think Boggs almost ever used pics is that correct ?
