He did. But I still can't figure out why *KZread* doesn't have him at the sheer top when searching *Pro Tools* in general? Devvon is the *got damn* husband to this DAW and *Pro Tools* needs to start acknowledging him as well. This is something I have never understand? He talks to his audience in a pure and clear language so everyone can understand. not like those other people who want to sound all fancy with their hieroglyphic's terms. That's why I stay my ass here and don't search anyone else. 😄💙🧡🤎🖤🤍

Hey Devvon, I just watched this and the softclipper tutorial. I you can get the same effect by putting a compressor with fast attack and release, a light ratio 1.2-3:1 and drop the threshold into the RMS of the material, if the compressor has an adjustable knee, throw on the soft side. Make up whatever is reduced 2-3dB is usually enough 😊

I totally dig this method and will be using this on my next project! Thanks so much for sharing this content! I'm curious to know why on the 2nd limiter did you choose Mode IRC III - Balanced and not use IRC IV - Modern? Is the latter a similar mode to what was used in the 1st limiter? Sonically it works in our example wonderfully, but I'm curious to know the reason for your choice for the 2nd.

I use a similar system, this is my chain: SSL Master Buss comp about 3.5 dg gain reduction UAD Teletronix LA2 about 1 db gain reduction (it gives TONS of openess and colour) Waves MAGMA Tubes (beautiful harmonics, BE CAREFUL) FabFilter ProQ2 - subtle touches, MS equalization SIR softclipper _ (sometimes L2 limiter 2.5 db gain control) OZONE Maximer exactly as Devvon uses I usually achieve in well balanced mixes clear non distorted up to 7 Lufs

It would be really dope if you could walk us through how & why you mastered this song the way you did. The beat isn't traditional being that it has no melody, so I would assume the same goes for the mastering to some degree. I know you roll of low end on the sides & why, but that doesn't seem like something you would aim to do on this master. I can see the chain & assume what you used which plugin for from studying your videos on mastering, but a video walking us through every decision you made during the mastering stage & even the mix stage would be very much appreciated.

Hi devvon great video. I love the ozone maximizer. Quick question: Do you use true peak and if so would you recommend putting it at the absolute last stage? I like to use the maximizer last in my master chain, would you consider it "good practice" to use true peak limiting with the maximier in this case?

In a previous video you said you don’t use limiters (plug-ins).You said you use hardware. But in this videos you leave that information out so there’s no way we can get our music sounding like yours without that information. Sounds like you’re just putting out stuff just to keep your KZread channel going to make money. If not you would show us how you really master your music with the hardware that you said you have in a previous video. I even left a comment on another of your videos asking you how do you master with your hardware but I guess that’s a secret you want to keep in order to master other peoples music for profit.
