2 Cocktails with SUZE GENTIAN LIQUEUR

Suze is a french Gentian Liqueur and bitter aperitif. It is most commonly seen replacing the Campari in a White Negroni cocktail but it has so many more uses!
Here are 2 (Overly complicated) cocktail recipes I found online. I was drawn to them by the sheer amount of ingredients, usually you don't see this many ingredients outside of Tiki Drinks!

Gentleman's Exchange Cocktail Recipe
1.5 oz Rye
3/4 oz Sweet Vermouth
1/2 oz Suze Gentian Liqueur
1/2 oz Amaro Averna
1 tsp Coffee Liqueur
4 dashes Absinthe
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Alcatraz Cocktail Recipe
1.5 oz Anejo Tequila
3/4 oz Dry Sherry
1/2 oz Suze Gentian Liqueur
1/4 oz Mezcal
1 barspoon Agave Syrup
2 dashes Chocolate Bitters

they are and despite the huge amount of ingredients, it doesnt feel like overkill.. they're quite well balanced

im obsessed with Suze lately!
You know, we don't shy away from big-ingredient cocktails... I know they intimidate some people, but heck, why not?? I'd have a tough time picking between these two... we're a big Averna and rye household, so that's a winner, but boy I love me tequila, mezcal, etc... This all sounds great Rob! Thank you! We still have yet to grab a bottle of Suze, but we'll try to track one down!

LOL.. I don't hate it :P ...It's not my favorite ingredient, I'll ocassionally have a Manhattan but usually prefer an old fashioned
Might try the Alcatraz though. Like my tequila. 🙂
I will have to try this with my gentian liqueur (not Suze).... Odin is in his glory!!!

Rob, I love Suze. It's amazing. My husband frequently makes the Gentleman's Exchange. We both love this amazing cocktail. Its delicious! Love the interchangeability of Averna!! This beauty with Tequila looks so wonderful!! :-)

While I love the name of the Alcatraz, the Gentleman's Exchange sounds more up my street (although I don't think I'll be going to a barman and asking for his best.. "gentleman's exchange")

It is quite bitter... similar to Campari but different taste

It’s been a while since I’ve tried it! …my fav Suze drink is just a white negroni with gin, Suze and Lillet
