Thanks Pastor Paul. The general principle seems to be "seeking and following after God leads to prosperity and success, but ignoring and rejecting God and following idols leads to ruin and failure." And it applies to both individuals and nations. It clearly applies in my own life and I have the "scars" to prove it. It amazes me that God has put up this long with us thick headed humans without wiping the slate clean. I can imagine Uzziah in the temple ... he suddenly notices leprosy breaking out on his face and now he can't get out fast enough! God bless.

Do you know if the name Azariah was just a common one because I'm so confused as to how Azariah told Uzziah that he couldn't be in the temple, when I though Uzziahs name had been Azariah? I'm so confused.

This one hit home....did not think all or most of us take a "default" attitude when a hint of anything happens...jump to the negative. Glad to know I'm not the only one. lol. Thank you for all your messages. I use them when I come up to a scripture in my daily bible readings that needs clarification. God bless :)

Same here, I come to his videos after I've done my study. I've gotten in trouble for relating the chapters God gives me to myself rather than knowing everything is about Jesus, not myself. But this preacher does the same thing so I do have a lesson to be learned with my neighbor and I'll assume that's why this was given to me. Gonna have to consider this unfortunately. 😞 I saw it as my neighbor being prideful but.....

Thank you so much for sharing your teaching ability to us who have a hard time understanding the bible. I thank God for you and your family and the privilege we have that you can come into my home early every morning after reading the scripture myself.

I really appreciate how these videos just cut to the chase. When I'm listening to a specific message from a pastor miles from me, I always skip over their church announcements and music/worship time. There's a time and a place for music. And it's OK that some churches share videos that way, but I have about 45 minutes each morning to read and pray so it's nice to tune in, get right to it, then I stop around 20 minutes and pray for the rest of the time. I may just continue on through the whole Bible with these videos because I would love pastor Paul's take on some things I've not been sure I understand!

I've Amaziahed in the past. But I listened and repented. At times, every now and again, I feel like Amaziahing, but the Lord guides me back on track. This is our journey on earth. Must overcome.

The talents of silver would have gone to the King of Israel (Northern Kingdom) and typically the soldiers of Israel (Northern Kingdom) would be paid by the 'spoils' of war, so they would not have been paid much, if anything, by the King of Israel, which is why they looted the towns.

Okay, I'm confused but may have figured it out. Uzziah's name was Azariah before he became king, right? So I am taking it that the name was just a common name and the Azariah that told Uzziah that he couldn't be in the temple just share a name?

The proud speak leasing and borrow the hatred of kings hoping sacrifice everything great whether it belongs to the king or not. Greatness is not in those who died to God's instructions.
