The saguaro can live up to 200 years and weigh 5000 lbs. They live for decades before they get their first arm. Multi-armed ones are over 100 years old.

Your story reminded me of a story. My sister received a cactus as a housewarming gift in Texas. The cactus started rustling while it was inside her house. She called animal control and they told her to put the cactus outside immediately. Soon after she put it outside it broke open and scorpions poured out of it.

DO NOT throw away any tubes for the next stretch of this trip! The desert roads will be full of blown tires at the roadside along with god knows what else. Pump action Francis will be in full action with almost no way of resupply of tubes. Safe travels guys

I look forward to the daily upload of this fantastic duo. I love all the quips and comedy, but I'm sure everything we DON'T see is very challenging. Making such a journey requires far more than just pedaling each day. Cleaning everything and editing/uploading daily is a lot of work in and of itself. I hope there guys can take a well-deserved break (perhaps somewhere warm and quiet) after they finish. What a wild trip!

Speaking of favorite Christmas🎄 movies...My wife's favorite Christmas movie is Die Hard. She asserts you simply can't beat the festivities at Yakatomi Tower (Sp.?). When she asked me last night to spin up the DVD of Die Hard, I said I had a better idea. Let's watch all the episodes of THE GREAT ADVENTURE OF FRANCIS AND JUSTIN! So that's what we did and now my wife has a new favorite Christmas Movie staring our two favorite mates from the United Kingdom. Merry Christmas boys, from the frozen tundra of North Carolina, USA!!! 😘🎄

@@DC-lu5qs Hi DC! I am lucky my wife enjoys cycling although a skiing accident when she was a young lass limits how much she can ride. What she loved about The Great Adventures of F&J was not really the cycling so much as it's magical ability to assure us that human nature's better angels are still alive and well. Priceless. 🙌❤️🙌

​@@lizziecade1902 I don't know how much of traditional British Christmas can be assembled in small town Arizona or California. I don't think I've ever seen a cracker or a Yorkshire pudding here:). Francis is such a seasoned adventurer that I'd guess he's experienced it before but it's got to be at least a little bit of a bummer to be away from family and loved ones on Christmas

Damn, this journey across the USA is almost coming to an end and I'm getting sad that it is. (How selfish of me) but glad they met their goal to raise money for their charity!

Great video again. I am amazed that you have the time between rides to produce them after a day in the saddle. It all makes sense now...several months ago Francis and Jimmy were testing various puncture proof technologies...none of which survived a 10K test let alone a trip across America 🇺🇸. Road debris is inevitable and mesquite thorns plentiful in the SW. I'm surprised how few punctures you've had frankly. Keep going...you two are amazing. PS: I say the same thing after chowing down on fast food: this wontvendxwell.

It should be absolutely beautiful in the mid seventies (20-25c) and clear with a light breeze. Forecast is perfect! In comparison, in Central NY it is currently 8F (-13) with a strong breeze, windchill is -12F, -24C. Many places are colder this morning after being seasonably warm, just yesterday.

Hey this just occurred to me. Maybe too late to execute on, but depending on where you are, you might be able to find a restaurant serving a Christmas dinner tomorrow night. It's usually expensive and requires reservations and may only be available in larger towns/cities, but it could be a nice treat for yourselves.

Interstate highways are the worst places to ride. I’m surprised you only had one puncture. Those wires from truck treads are the usual culprit. HMU if you get to the Coachella Valley. Dinner is on me!

I used to try and be friends with guard dogs, and never did I get bitten or cornered by them.

Shirt in shower each evening, wrap and roll around in a towel then hang, dry (enough) by morning. Presume similar with shorts:socks:smalls.

Boys I have lost track of how many punctures you have had, why did you not have Schwalbe Marathon Tour tyres, I now there are little slower, we did 8700km in USA and Canada this summer with no punchers. You are lucky missing the cold weather so far. Great job.

@@Cade_Media Yeah, put them on my winter bike and had a puncture in the front in no time. It's all about the terrain and, frankly, being looked upon favorably by the puncture gods.

just dawned on me, tubes, really. cmon guys, its 2022 save all that grief go tubeless. just wrap some electrical tape around the inside of the rim, put that valve in, take the valve core out, put in the sealant, get an adaptor to go from presta to schrader, go to gas station compressor. aint that hard
