2.8 - MIMO TECHNIQUES - CAPACITY & COVERAGE ENHANCEMENT IN 4G LTE

MIMO TECHNIQUES - CAPACITY & COVERAGE ENHANCEMENT IN 4G LTE
In this video on MIMO we have shown how multiple path increases LINK ROBUSTNESS in SPATIAL DIVERSITY, and LINK CAPACITY in SPATIAL MULTIPLEXING.
We have also shown, how in future, COVERAGE can be improved using ANTENNA BEAMFORMING, and THROUGHPUT can be enhanced using MASSIVE MIMO.

+KAILASHA SIVA- Thanks Kailasha for the nice words. Initially our idea was to make videos on call flows but we thought we need to cover the basics first. So don't worry we will definitely make videos on call flows. We have mentioned the topics that we are planning to cover in the video channel roadmap.

We want to say how collecting materials require huge time and we are short of manpower and how we are always busy with other stuffs. but the truth is we are bunch of lazy engineers. Hopefully we will be able to change our habits in near future. Till then stay with us. Happy learning.

Thanks a lot Yuvraj for the nice words. We will definitely make a video on LTE Network Architecture. Infact that was our initial plan. But before we do that we need to cover the basics. See the video Channel Roadmap. There we have shown what are the topics that we will cover. So I guess you have to wait a little longer. Till then enjoy the other videos. Happy learning. :)

Due to fading is it guaranteed that the signal will increase the link capacity can't it degrade the signal ? I know that if the signal is out of phase then it can lead to destructive interference. Is there a way to counter it??

If 2 signals at a similar amplitude arrive at one antenna 180 Degrees out of phase they are destructive to each other , the second antenna at a different physical position will have (in general) have a different phase relationship for the diverse paths. So the second antenna may receive for example 90 Degrees phase difference allowing the resultant to not cancel. In reality there are more than 2 signal paths and phase relationships, but this explains how the chances of data passing through is improved.
