    Man you are a tuning genius🙌 225ft-lbs of torque and yet you still can bump the compression much higher, run race fuel, use oversized valves plus get much more aggressive cams, makes you wonder what a fully built 2.5 naturally aspirated is capable of. Well done sir👍

    Hello how did you come up with the size of the itbs? Love this build.

    Sorry we missed this comment. We started with 50mm ITB's on stock 2.5's and found them to perform very well, retaining very good low down torque and obviously being plenty big enough for high rpm flow. This size also then future proof's for any cam and head upgrades as per this car. We have run 48mm bodies on stock 2.5's with similar results to 50mm, but we suspect with cams/head they would start to be a restriction.

    Very neat engine, what does this engine like the Rev to on the upgraded cams? Sounds like it tops out very quickly. But I imagine the 2.5 has a poor rod to piston ration which would contribute to that as well. Contemplating this swap for a rally mx5, but I would like it to at least rev freely to 7800-8000rpm How does the stock valve train stand up to use and abuse?

    This one is particularly rev happy for a 2.5, but limiter is set to 7200 (ARP rod bolts fitted).

    @@DanstengineeringCoUk Does it support the Canbus dash and is it a full standalone setup?

  • @DanstengineeringCoUk

    No it won't support the canbus, we've left the stock ecu in place to run the dash. The ME442 can be supplied with the same loom and will support Canbus,but this adds around £300 over the ME221.

    Hola tiene alguna desventaja el 2.5 comparado al 2.0 ? Lo decia por los 100 mm de carrera

  • @Sk0die

    @Sk0die

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes the 2.0 can rev higher without damage. A stock 2.5 isn't really safe past 7000rpm, where's a stock 2.0 can go to 7500-7800rpm on stock internals. So basically if you want more tourqe go 2.5, if you want super revvy motor go 2.0.

    Hello I'm looking at purchasing one of your engines and need to know if the vvt is an issue going on my focus 2.0 duratec, it's identical engine to st150 except it has single coils instead of a coil pack?

  • @DanstengineeringCoUk

    @DanstengineeringCoUk

    3 жыл бұрын

    Your standard ecu will not control the Vvt and will not fuel the 2.5 correctly. It would really need a standalone ecu such as the ME221 to be properly mapped and control the Vvt.

    Miltek 4-1 manifold and system. It's pretty well sized - 48mm OD primaries, though it did need to be ported out at the flange and welded externally (welds are internal as standard).

    swap a 2.5L or a 2.3KL duratech motor into your car. Even a 2L if your on a super tight budget. Or buy something else. I'm sorry but thats the only options for reliable usable power in your car. These duratech motors have alot more aftermarket support than your 1.3. Duratech 2.5s can be found reasonably cheap tho, and I reckon its worth the money. With the huge increase in tourqe over your 1.3L , you'll be able to do burnouts no problem! Should be a very very simple swap too, these engines are fairly easy to work on.

    It's a miltek system. The primaries are 45mm and main system 60mm. I spent a lot of time re-welding the manifold runners externally to the flange (welded inside as standard) and then opening it out inside to remove the harsh necking down the runners had as standard where they meet the flange. The primaries are 45mm OD and main system 60mm.
