So funny at the end when Murdoch looks at Johnny and Scott and they afraid to look at him. Guess they are going to get yelled at. Nice story show how much Murdoch loved his boys especially what Johnny went though.

THERE WAS A MOVIE ENTITLED THE MISFITS, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE PERFECT NAME FOR THE EPISODE TITLE THE EXPERIMENT. A GROUP OF DIVERSE & MISUNDERSTOOD YOUNG MEN. LOVED THIS WESTERN SHOW. GO LANCER GO A LANCER FAN🎥😀😍🎥

The Experiment has my favorite of aJames Stacy's haircuts, kind o long abd shaggy, very cute on him, it makes him look much younger too, I've guesstimated Scott at 26, Johnny comes in at 22. Since Scott was 4 when he was born, 2 when Lancer Married Jobnny's mother.6 when Johnny's mother left Lancer him. I see Johnny having become an orphan at about 10 when his mother died an then his stepfather threw him out of the house leaving him to survive by his own means. I'm working on a fan fiction tying all this together right now.

Ii think Murdoch was so into this because he coud envision Johnny being one of these men haad he not ben in Mexico doing what he did.

Loved the way Johnny & Scott were on the hill looking after Murdoch with binoculars to make sure the convicts didn't hurt him !!! Both Scott and Johnny were afraid more of Murdoch getting mad at them forwatching over him !!

Some episodes have good endings and some are disappointing. Sometimes they put in so much drama and leave little time at the end for any interaction between them. I was expecting to hear what Murdock said to Johnny and Scott in their part of the mix up. Even Johnny told Scott Murdock would have their hide for not listening to him. But the show rushed through the ending because of lack of time and they just stood looking at each other; no words spoken. Other endings have been cut short also. But the endings are as significant as all the dramatic action they are sure to leave in. Oh well, they gave us what they gave us. One fantastic western which by the way was cut too short also after only two seasons.

I LOVED THIS EPISODE BECAUSE, IT TELLS A STORY IN A STORY. THE DREAM OF A PRISON FARM IS A DREAM SHARED BY(MURDOCH LANCER) PLAYED BY ANDREW DUGGAN, &(NATHAN BENEDICT) PLAYED BY JOHN MCLIAM. THEY BELIEVE THAT YOUNG MEN WHO MADE JUST ONE MISTAKE, SHOULD NOT BE TIED DOWN LIKE DOGS, AND LOCK UP FOR LIFE. THEY FEEL THAT WITH NO CELL ROOMS & PRISON BARS, FRESH AIR, AND A LITTLE RESPECT, THESE YOUNG MEN CAN BECOME MODEL CITIZEN AGAIN. HIS YOUNGEST SON(JOHNNY)PLAYED BY JAMES STACY IS THERE WHEN HE HEARS HIS FATHER TALK ABOUT THE DREAM. HE ASKES HIS FATHER, DO HE STILL BELIEVE IN THE DREAM.? HIS FATHER LOOKS AT HIS SON, & REPLIES YES JOHNNY I STILL DO. WHEN HIS FRIEND NATE IS INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT, NATE ASKS MURDOCH TO TAKE HIS PLACE AT THE FARM, UNTIL HE IS WELL TO COME BACK. MURDOCH RELUNTLEY AGREES TO HELP. AFTER GETTING TO KNOW THE (6) MEN, MURDOCH PUTS HIS PLAN IN MOTION. I only just caught that Johnny calls Murdoch Pa in this episode, saying Hello, Pa, to which Murdoch replies, hello, son, a very cute exchange.
