😂I got knocked out during a 1 v 1, I secured the ball but the Striker couldn't stop, he charged directly to my head. Woke up later in a hospital bed.

Good basic advice. It really helps your 1v1. Work on timing, speed, confidence and reflex. But, when you decide to come out as a goalie, go ALL-IN. Surprise with speed. 9 out of 10 1v1 I got you destroyed

i used this advice and saved my team in my debut the fullback sent a lob pass to the winger and i took 2 steps forward 1 step back then i saw that the winger was looking down and entered the box and had a heavy touch so i just went all in and got the ball but my nose was almost broken it was bleeding but i still continued the match

Speed and agility play into the keeper more than you realize, the faster the keeper the faster that attack is when the forward least expects it. That first touch, long touch, or missed handle into the box from the forward I would've already smothered the ball away from his foot before he even had the time to think about striking the ball. It becomes a mental game, it makes the forward think twice before running into the box. It makes them start to think more about when they are going to strike and look down at his feet and not realize I'm already closing in. Limit the angle, make the shot harder by making that window go from 75% down to 25%.

I don’t think he’s talking nonsense. He coached Oblak, Ederson and Jose Sa so he must know something 😅 What Miguel is saying is (as a guide) you’re better off waiting until the striker loses control of the ball / takes a bigger touch if you’re going to attack it, rather than when they’re in full control.

@@ModernDayGK you put it in a way of understanding the vid does not show that,, and not sure if you know of an old Russian goalkeeper called Yashin but he knew my grandfather and taught him and my grandfather taught me but i guess Ederson and the like are more modern football but the best way to throw a striker off guard is as soon as they pick up the ball in the box or whatever pressure them and then its up to them to shoot in the time you give them till you reach them and kick the ball away or pick it up.

You must always hold it if it's in his control. If he takes a little bit of a bigger touch then you can go for it. You don't know the 1v1 stance perfectly that's why you are getting nutmegged lol

Tips from Tim: Normally if they have control off the ball you can trick them into shooting quickly by taking two quick steps at the ball Most likely an easy shot to stop.
