1st Use Polaris Sportsman Snow Plow - HEAVY 20 In. Snow

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This video I take my new 2021 sportsman 450 with the plow out for its first use. Had big snow storm on 1.17.22, over 20'' and even the snow plow got stuck. And yes I plowed in both high and low as I went along. Since sold it and moved to FL.

On your left handle grip is a yellow button. When in reverse press the yellow button and it will engage. Wheel reverse…without engaging your reverse will only engage the 2 rear wheels even if you are in 4 wheel. Second thing is only plough in 4 wheel low. Your machine will perform better and your engine/ belt will thank you. With hat much snow take your 1st pass with the plough only moving half the depth, 2nd pass the other half of the snow depth. From then on just take half plough with passes.

There is an adjustment on the plow that makes the plow blade tilt more forward for a more aggressive “cut”. It’s the bolt assembly near the large springs. Loosen them and rotate them. It’ll make a big difference on how close you dig in to the pavement

I will give you a few tips. 1. Always plow in Low gear. You'll have a little easier time pushing. 2. After plowing in wet snow, us WD 40 on the shear pin (less chance for it to freeze up over night) 3. Like another commenter had said easier to do if you don't have to do it all at the same time. Bonus tip- if you ever shear the shear pin (in the handle that angles the plow) you can get another use by flipping it over.

We shall see. 10 years before I blew a belt on my 2008 Kawasaki 750 Brute Force, I should be that lucky. I also always just let the dealership take care of maintenance and issues. @@Ekmanjohnny

For your size driveway, and with a truck in the way, the ATV is total overkill. You'd have a much better clean (And probably easier, too) with a snowblower. Just look at the driveway across the St. A good single stage blower like a Toro works great. Once you get a path cut, you can take half passes and throw the snow 30' onto the lawn. I use an ATV as well but I have a private drive that is 1/8th mile long and my parking lot, where my garage is located, is about 20x the size of your driveway. (I'm in the country) It really shines where you can keep up the speed and wing the snow into the woods. I still use a blower for the tight spots around my vehicles and walking paths.

You might try adding fluid in your tires. Growing up in farm country this is common practice in tractors especially 2wd ones. I have 2 vintage garden tractors I use for snow removal here in northern Ohio. We get a lot of wet snow too. One has a blade and one has a 42" front mount blower. I put 5 gallons of winter blend washer fluid in both rear tires and it makes a BIG difference in traction pushing deep snow. That's only about 40 lb per tire I could probably fit another gallon in each tire but I don't think it's necessary, if it gets much deeper than a foot I just use the blower tractor anyhow. But having that fluid directly in your tire can make the difference between being able to push and not.

Definitely put it in low gear when plowing that much snow I just bought a Yamaha Kodiak 700 and a 60in plow whenever I plow I put a bag of salt on the racks for some weight and I keep it low gear it really impressed me how well it worked! Also in some places I will admit I do have lockers front and rear and the power of the 700 yanked it right out so I didn’t get stuck but still very happy! Awesome video tho!
