1st Trip To Bainbridge Island Then Over To The Viking Town Of Poulsbo
#vanlife #bainbridgeisland #fulltimevanlife
Today, I’m a Seattle tourist. We start the day in Port Townsend making a breakfast sandwich with some good local sourdough bread. Then we took a drive out to Bainbridge Island. Our drive takes us across the Hood Canal Bridge. The Hood Canal Bridge is one of three floating bridges in Washington State.
On Bainbridge Island we check out Pegasus Coffee. Pegasus Coffee is housed in a beautiful ivy covered building. And they serve great tasty coffee. After a walk around town, I needed to air up a tire that has a slow leak. This is the second puncture in less than a month on the same tire. But, I am prepared with a tire pump and tire gauge.
From Bainbridge we headed over to Poulsbo . Poulsbo is a Scandinavian inspired town with lots of Viking themed restaurants and shops. This was a tourist like day around the Seattle area. And it was very enjoyable.

My name is Scott and in 2015, I bought a Ram ProMaster City to live in. Even though I didn’t know much about RV’s and campervans, I set about building the van out as a minivan camper. And in April of 2016, I moved into my minivan full time.
Over the years, I’ve learned you don’t need to have a big skill set to build your own campervan. And that living as a minimalist and utilizing solar power can be a less expensive way to live. I’ve also learned that a minivan can be a very comfortable home.
Please follow along as I document my journey.

@Static CamperVan Yes. I live in such a beautiful area. 😍 We just got back from a little camping trip to Central Oregon below Bend. It was very pretty too with the rock formations and some amazing clouds and thunderstorms. Our next trip won't be quite so far.
Beautiful places, once more. I like, how you said," don't remind me. About the water spots." That crunch, from the bread, sounded like it was perfectly toasted. Your burrito, looked good. Happy trails, take care.😊
Looks like you made a great choice on places to visit! Its good to explore around towns and keep open to experiences🦊 Nice breakfast sandwich!
that was a 7.0 on the richter scale when you bit into that sandwich!

That little bridge you drove over to get onto Bainbridge Island is the Agate Pass Bridge. You passed with in a few miles of Chief Seattle's Grave. You should have stopped and had a visit. The Hood Canal bridge opens mainly to let Navy submarines in and out from their base in Bangor. You can stop into any Les Schwab Tire Store and say your have a tire going flat and they will fix it, if it can be fixed, for free.

What a beautiful walking tour - I enjoyed every moment of it! Sorry the price of coffee keeps getting higher. That Mexican coffee you chose looked really yummy! 👍
I love your videos! I live in Seattle, so I was familiar with all the places you visited. But I haven't been there in a long time. I travel with you, and I find that your videos are relaxing to watch. Thank you for your wonderful words on your travel life. (By the way, the weather constantly changes around here. It has been raining in Seattle for the last few days, after a warm spell.)
Thanks for the vlog, Scott. I 'enjoyed' that breakfast sandwich along with you-bread looked so yummy- and of course all the wonderful coffee! Thanks for the tour, and I found the info about the floating bridges fascinating. Thanks for sharing.

Port Townsend is great very close to my hometown Whidbey island. Very cool👍
Hi Scott- Another excellent vlog. that Sourdough bread with white cheddar and egg and the hot sauce looks so lovely. You just made me hungry at 10:00pm. Love your show. Have a great w/e in Seattle!
Great video!! Beautiful scenery of places that I have never been to.
WOW Your egg sammich looked so good I decided to make myself one! I didn’t have sourdough so I used a tortilla, no eggs so I used refried beans and chicken. My burrito was almost as good as your sammich looked!
I really enjoyed this video, thank you! I went to Port Townsend with a friend of mine a couple of years ago and I am here to tell you, the people there are so friendly! We went there because there is a well know sea glass beach and I do love sea glass, but I love agates more. I did find some sea glass but no agates. On day two I went to a thrift shop and the proprietor was asking all about my travels (so much nicer than where I live) and I told her I found some sea glass but I didn't find any agates. She proceeded to give me a ziplock bag full of agates! I could not have been more pleased :-) Anyway, I enjoy your content because it calms me and makes me feel good. Keep up the great work! Can't wait to see where life takes you next. Be well!

Ahhh beautiful Poulsbo🩵😎
Hi Scott, me again. Consider two things for the heat. I' m Australian, hot as hell here at times. A good bushwalking umbrella (they are silver on top and black underneath) is surprisingly cooling on a sundrenched day and also is great for rain. They are super light and I use mine summer and winter. Mine is 6 Moons design. They store well in a backpack so will go well in your van. Second, linen clothes are the best for heat. You can also get protective UV cool shirts from stores that specialise in bushwalking and canoeing gear. They wash and dry really quickly and again are light weight for backpacking. The creases they make are called designer creases in the fashion industry. Wearing your wool is way too hot in that weather.

It's funny that you should mention Six Moon Designs. The owner of the company is a friend and gave me one of those umbrellas. It's a fantastic umbrella.
Another well-done video! You featured all three of my favorite destinations. Sometimes I do a 'walk-on' for the ferry and take it to Winslow, Bainbridge Island.
Florence Oregon very close to same temps as Port Townsend. Hopefully the wind isn't as bad as Florence!
I have enjoyed the ferry ride there several times. So glad you visited Bainbridge. I’d move there if I had more money. There is (was?) a yarn shop there that I enjoyed.
Hi Scott. Another of your vids well done. Many thx. I like your close to the ground attitude, no rah rah. Love it. Keep on keeping on.

@@StaticCamperVan I am so blessed that I learn areas really quickly, so even when I go to places for the very first time I often seem like I know places really well. Part of that comes from studying maps and such before I travel to places too. It pays off really well. I like to be prepared so that I can spend more time enjoying the places I go-to instead of learning about them when I get there! Plus I watch a lot of excellent youtube channels like yours to learn about places to explore! Thank you so much! Years ago, before I started Vanlife, I went to house sit for a friend in Tucson, AZ. It was my first time there and she was amazed and confused by how well I knew a place I'd never been to before as well. I'm now am really looking forward to getting back to the PNW and exploring many of the places you have shared that I've not been to yet! Again, thank you so much!!!

Enjoy the Pacfic Northwest area, fresh crisp clean air, lakes, everything is green. Another good equipment to have on hand in case of emergency, is the Halo Bolt battery charger, it's smalll but mighty. You probably have one or something similar to it already. One of the very first times I saw your channel you talked about Starbucks on Capital Hill. I had never been there but seeing you today, reminded me of the Starbucks in in Japan. It has a five hour wait list. Now why you reminded me of this story I’m not sure? Maybe it’s because I grew up on the peninsula and I love it. I type very slow but would love to chat. My husband and I visit that area often. We have a daughter and two grandchildren who lives in Richland Beach, the north end of Seattle. We are 72 and our daughter is 51. I do remember you building the van. Go to the Casino off the bridge you can park there, you don’t have to gamble. Move on to Squamish
