T-Square is also like Casiopea a jazz fusion band that started in 1976 (both bands started in the same year lol), they were equally as popular and influential in Japan as Casiopea but maybe slightly less know than them outside of Japan. Also funny since you mentioned Cowboy Bebop, the solo saxophonist of The Seatbelts' Tank song (the 1998 Cowboy bebop opening song) is Masato Honda and before that he was actually a member of T-Square from 1990 to 1998, he was replacing the original T-Square saxophone player Takeshi Itoh (the one you see in the video) who left the band in 1990 but came back in 2000 after Masato Honda left. Another Fun fact: if you're into 80s video games, the popular Super Mario Bros theme soundtrack is actually inspired by T-Square song "Sister Marian", and the famous Street Fighter 2 Guile theme soundtrack is said to be inspired by their song "Travelers". Also Koji Kondo (the legendary Nintendo composer of Mario and Zelda games) cited T-Square as an influence on his compositions.

Casiopea and T-Square are amazing, these guys and Masayoshi Takanaka got me back into guitar and music all together. The chaotic fun I see in these performances are amazing and enjoyable to see. I'm glad people like you are starting to react to these for the first time since these guys are majorly underrated!

To the whole Casiopea + T-Square thing: This was a collaboration-ish concert because both bands are and were very popular in japans' jazz scene. Casiopea was the band that wrote FIGHTMAN. But they also played some tracks from t-square and others from casiopea too. 1:47 Both names are/were correct. As far as I know, T-Square changed the "The" to just a "T", because there was already a British band with that name. They wanted to avoid any confusion. But I don't know if that's right. And Minoru Mukaiya, the man you mention in 3:05, was there from the very beginning of the band until 2006 I think. And in the 80s/90s T-Square had a band member (a saxophonist) Masato Honda, who also is a member in the band SEATBELTS by Yoko Kanno, who made the entire soundtrack for Cowboy Bebop (if you didn't react to them yet I highly suggest this band to you too. Especially the theme of the series "Tank". Honda plays the entire sax solo there.

If you want to know more about T-Square and their music, you should definitely listen to "SISTER MARIAN". And the song FIGHTMAN is by CASIOPEA. Love the second reaction!!

T- Square is an amazing band as well. Their songs are IMO more catchy in terms of melody, bc the wind instrument player mostly lead the songs. You should definitely check these T-Square-songs out: Control (live 1990), Truth (live 1994), Omens of Love (live 1985) and Knight's Song (live 1997)
