Great reaction Sue. John's band is first rate, his backup singers are first rate, and he is never reluctant to let them shine individually during his concerts. He always credits them by name and this is why we know most of the people on stage with John by name, and his concerts become something of a family affair. Is it any wonder that he is so loved in Australia !!!

Hi Joan, I understand why he is so loved. John deserves all the love. He is great and as you mentioned so very generous with the people he works with....a sign of a wonderful person 🤗
What a healing, hope-filled message! Needed that after listening to endless days of political acrimony and bluster and revealing Trump trial testimony. Thanks for featuring John today.
Such a beautiful soul our John is, true role model kids should follow in this day and age. Love that you love John and such a beautiful reaction. Some songs I would recommend are - I can do anything, burn for you a lovely ballad he wrote for his wife- a touch of paradise, that’s freedom

One of my absolute favourite JF songs. The backing vocal arrangement is wonderful all the way through and then the breakdown the end… great.
The backup singer, Venetta Fields, was a backup singer in Barbra Streisand 's A Star is Born, so yes, they are top class.

This song references many things; 'Imagine if you can': John Lennon's - Imagine, Martin Luther King Jnr's speech - 'I Have a Dream', Bob Dylan - The Answer is Blowing in the Wind, reference to the first moon walk, my interpretation of 'we will see the sun as more than just a star' - we take everything at face value without realising/acknowledging the real significance/purpose of things/people. A beautiful solo by backup singer Vanetta Fields who has sung with many famous people, she was also an Ikette with Tina Turner. As usual everyone on stage is amazing!

Great Performance Needless to say a flawless performance I think this might have been first original song i heard from John and really enjoyed it At first i was worried it would come across corny ( with the MLK quote ) But as it continued and quoted Bob Dylan and John Lennon i loved it I would like to pick up on your comment on backing singers There was an Oscar winning documentary about backing singers called 20 ft from Stardom which is awesome if you can catch it Luther Vandross famously was backing vocalist for David Bowie

Yes Jesse, I know of that doc it was great! So many of them have better voices than the lead person 🤗
This is a beautiful song by a beautiful man. The lyrics, taken and crafted from other songs with a message, in turn bring a greater message - "In days to come we'll see the Sun as more than just a star. In days to come we''ll be as one ..." In esoteric spirituality the Sun is our 'local God'. The Sun is Light, Love and Power. There is the outer physical Sun, the middle heart of the Sun and the core of will-power of the Sun. When we realise and follow the Sun's example there will be peace on earth and all people will 'be as one' living in Light, Love and Goodwill to all.

I agree, Barnowl 🤗
One of my fav songs from John. It is still relevant in today's world. I actually feel when he sings "In days to come we'll see the Sun as more than just a star" that he's referring to the Son of God. I may be wrong but that's how it hit me. John is all those lovely things you mentioned Sue, So kind, so loved by all who know him, and a great sense of humour....but he lives to 'Entertain' His contact with the audience is amazing...no matter if you're sitting in the back row or up front you know he sees and loves you. @@playitagainsue Hi Sue, I recently watched the wonderful Venetta Fields being interviewed on two separate occasions about her long career as one of John’s backup singers. I already knew that she’d been one of the Ikettes for Ike and Tina Turner a long time ago but I didn’t know about her time working with Pink Floyd and other well-known singers and bands. She’s a lovely lady and if you’re interested to watch them just type her name into KZread. Your personality comes through as someone who would fit in very well with Australians if you ever decide to come over here for a holiday. 🤗 Some good news too about John’s recovery from his cancer operation. There are photos of John and Jill at their son Robert’s recent wedding. The plastic surgeons did an amazing job and Robert had already told the media that John had been singing at home during his recovery. We couldn’t ask for a better outcome! All the best from Sydney.

2 күн бұрын
Hi again Sue. My first name is Robyn. I live by the Pay It Forward concept so it was easy to pass on an authentic opinion. Something else I recommend is the mini documentary “John Farnham: Finding The Voice”. David Hirschfelder (John’s pianist) mentions that “You’re The Voice” became the catalyst for the destruction of the Berlin Wall and the unification of West and East Germany in 1989. You felt the emotion of the anthem it became so I was glad that David pointed out that timeline to everyone. Keep up the good work! 😊

Most people will request the song that everybody else requests but John is soo good that he does other songs as well. My suggestion would be 'John Farnham - See the banners Fall' or John Farnham - Beyond the call' both LIVE! Please. Ur welcome. 😂

Hey Bernadette, no worries. We do sound similar sometimes depending on the area but much easier to tell us apart from the southern States and we can tell the difference between Canadians and Amercians from the north...a lot of differences in vowel sounds but it is probably too subtle for Aussies to pick up on it 🤗💜
