Is SG->Batam->JB and JB->Batam->SG a feasible way to get around the causeway jam?

Not worth it for day trip because with the total ticket expenses and traveling time, it’s more worth it to go KL by plane instead. Also, ferry from Jb to batam don’t come often. I believe last time there were only 2-3 ferries per day. I’m not sure about now tho. Maybe you can consider taking ferry from Tanah merah to Pengerang (eastern side of JB). Downside would be finding transport to bring you straight to JB central. Another way is via KTM. This is best way by far if you’re looking to beat the causeway jam. But need to book 2 weeks or more in advance.

Yes, if just a one day trip then it's not worth it. I dont recommend it as well, unless you want to visit Batam and make your way into JB then go for it.

I can give you the rough price which was stated in one the other company, The prices are quite the same. For adults - One way is RM128 - Round trip is RM 181 For kids : RM93, Round trip is RM123 . ( a small tax excluded ) The destination is to the Batam Centre.( The nationalities is never any issue, we have Singaporean & Malaysians in our group. I think i saw one foreigner on our ferry. Ferry from JB is totally different experience, as we are pass through the Strait of Johor and pass by Pulau Ubin , a very different sight indeed which for me, I think it's a highlight on its own.
