This sounds like something I'd hear on an anime OST, and I mean that as the highest form of compliment.

Nowadays there are so many great guitar players with great technical ability. But making a beautiful and memorable composition with not too much showing off the skills...only pure genius can do that. You're more than deserved to win this brother!

I've been meaning to make a video about it sometime, because it's interesting to see the split in comments between praise and "better than", as you did. I worked on my solo early on in the contest, so I didn't worry about the judging criteria, and just tried to put together what I've always thought about a good solo to the best of my ability. It's something that I can almost sing, and is memorable to the ear. A phrase that anyone can likely play. A little playfulness. You want to pick up a guitar too included. I hoped that this solo become like that for you guys...

That blues lick at 40 seconds is straight god tier

0:19 amazing little chime to start a solo 0:28 - 0:31 very pop-ish singing melody, super catchy 0:41 insane jazz-ish and melodic lick

The note selection, the tone, the chops. the composition is moving

This had me wishing it didn't last only 1 minute, I wanna listen to this for 10 hours damn it! Please make like a continuing to this solo, maybe a full song, I need it so bad!

This was so luscious. I always really enjoy guitar work that makes such skill sound beautiful.

it's like the backing track was made for this solo... it's clear why you win the contest.

This is definitely the best. Solos don't need to be hard to sound good unlike other entries that begins with freaking explosive tapping. This is what i'm looking for.

Thank you so much. In this contest, Important was not high techs, and not avant-garde. It was "comprehensibility" that I think. But many guitarists and me too are seeking techs or avant-garde... In that mean, so enjoyed able to see around the world guitarists!

rucy really beautiful phrasing . I listened to alot of the contestants and this was absolutely the most balanced and tasteful. Guitar players often lose sight of the music and join the guitar olympics.. Despite of how technically talented you are you wrote something very pleasant to listen to and satisfying. This is the kind of playing i don’t have to watch to enjoy.. this is playing I could easily listen to in my car and throughly enjoy . This was well deserved. P.s id love tabs for this.

0:27 - those two notes just a semi-tone apart, very assured, very nice and to my ears very reminiscent of some of Plini's playing. An incredible effort.

Pretty tasteless to hate on the guy who won, when he didn't decide. Why post this on his video? Send it to the guys who chose the winners if you're that compelled. This guy just wrote and nailed a sweet ass solo, regardless of your opinion of Max. He did nothing other than enter.

Max Ostro is a virtuoso. No doubt about it. But he wouldnt have been able to write the solo as melodic this. If you think the contest is just about technique then you guys are missing the point.

Because the kid simply deserved it. I don't wanna diminish the other players credits, all of them are excellent, but the kids solo was the most creative. Kiesel didn't award him because he's endorsed by Ibanez.

I wanted to share with you guys what I think that musical importance on this solo. It was worth doing because I felt like that was acknowledged a little. This guitar called "STRADA" was trance red but It changed to trance green burst on my will. Thank you so much!

En estos niveles la tecnica es lo de menos, practicamente todos los concursantes son excelentes guitarristas. Solo queda ver cual de todos tiene mejor "llegada" a la gente, gusta mas. Dicho esto, solo puedo acotar que Max logro que me guste muchisimo mas su trabajo. Pero no puedo negar que Rucy es muy bueno tambien.

I feel like chipping in a bit. Since I've seen new comments pouring in. Here's my take..technically, Max was unmatchable and he was melodic as well. But, the phrasing on this one is impeccable. I can actually sing the parts and that's the beauty of it. Anyway, they're both phenomenal players. The KZread guitar community should be more supportive instead of just arguing about ..who has more strings..who plays faster.
