to those bitching about "out of tune" "not right key" etc etc .... this is "echo TAPS" meaning two horns. usually the second horn player is several (50yards or so) away. this gives the echo effect when played in a "round" and also masks any slight intonation discrepancies. perfect pitching two horns in a slow duet is extremely difficult due to horn manufacture ,player, slide adjust etc....this isn't a les paul. mad these 2 Marines played at a greater distance you would never hear the off-sync overlaps due to sound travel speed and how you hear sound. good job Marines!

Hey, they got the melody right, which is pretty uncommon these days. But still... Army Regulation 220-90, Army Bands dated December 2007, Paragraph 2-5h(1) states the following: "'Echo Taps' or 'Silver Taps', the practice of performing 'Taps' with multiple buglers, is not authorized. 'Echo Taps' is not a part of Army tradition and improperly uses bugler assets." Army Regulation 600-25, Salutes, Honors, and Visits of Courtesy, dated September 2004, Glossary, Section two states the following: "Taps The traditional 'lights out' musical composition played at military funerals and memorials. The official version of 'Taps' is played by a single bugle. In accordance with AR 220-90, 'Echo or Silver Taps', which is performed by two buglers, is not authorized." Field Manual 12-50, U.S. Army Bands, dated October 1999, Appendix A, Official And Ceremonial Music, Appendix A, Section 1 - Ceremonial Music, Paragraph A-35 "A-35. Signals that unauthorized lights are to be extinguished. This is the last call of the day. The call is also sounded at the completion of a military funeral ceremony. Taps is to be performed by a single bugler only. Performance of 'Silver Taps' or 'Echo Taps' is not consistent with Army traditions, and is an improper use of bugler assets.

Wo kriegt man die noten von dem stück
ALL branches, not just the Army.
Please correct me if i'm wrong but isn't this suppose to be played only if someone has died? Our group always (well the trumpet soloist does at least) Plays this at our memorial day concerts to remember and honor the fallen soldiers.
Semper Fi, OOHRAH!
question? no offense to anything but why is the first valve down? traditional you do not use valves for taps, like it is done on a bugle.
You also play it at the end of the day but it looks like high noon.
Thumbs up!
Sleep well my brothers

No they are playing in harmony. You can only do that with trumpets. Those are not bugles.

10 years late but It’s a C trumpet, so the first valve makes it play in the same key and have the same amount of tubing as the other trumpet (in Bb)

@@tylerjack6018 oh wow haven't thought about this for a long time, but since I commented this I went to college for music education and now tech for marching band as a second job so now I know! But this comment would've been great then as I was very much not exposed to the woder world of brass instruments while in high school
