Viktor Anatolyevich Bout[a] (/buːt/; Russian: Ви́ктор Анато́льевич Бут; born 13 January 1967) is a Tajik-born Russian arms dealer. A weapons manufacturer and former Soviet military translator, he used his multiple companies to smuggle arms from Eastern Europe to Africa and the Middle East during the 1990s and early 2000s. Bout gained the nicknames the "Merchant of Death" and "Sanctions Buster" after British minister Peter Hain read a report to the United Nations in 2003 on Bout's wide-reaching operations, extensive clientele, and willingness to bypass embargoes.

@@agatekeeper .... Strange, these standard that we as society carry out. She felt as if she was humiliated by being forced to endure some of the things she faced in the work camp. That the conditions of her time in prison were not to a better standard for her time there. To relate her situation as a mistake, like leaving your keys in your car. Yes, that can happen true enough by being irresponsible in a moment. But she broke a law in a foreign society and now she wishes to profit from it. Turning lemons into lemonade. I will pray for her to examine herself and take the Bible and follow God's plan for her journey to the right way of life. As I will pray to examine myself. To come to this understanding of the media water down thinking in our world. We may not live the life we like. Let's try to live the life God has set for us. His will will be done. On earth as it is in Heaven.

I am proud to be an American and this is a reminder to be thankful for what our country and military do to defend our rights. Think about Whelan who is still imprisoned and living in those conditions. Why is he still there when the US has said his were bogus charges? With tensions between Russia and Ukraine, China and Taiwan, and now Iran and Israel Americans would be wise to not travel to these countries unless they have to. This is what happens in other countries though when you break the law. US, not so much. Due to the possibility of a WW3 Americans are bargaining chips. It's our reality now across the world. Very scary. 🙏

Brittney has been through so much. She had HORRIBLE parents, had to endure being Black, female, gay and almost 7 feet tall in an insane culture that doesn't allow that, and made all the mistakes so common to someone with that much trauma, a personal life that has been just an absolute mess. I find it hard to feel sorry for her but I can completely emphasize with how scared she must of been. She should have been more careful, she knew where she was going.

Don't do the crime if you don't have the balls to do the time. He knew that Russia isn't as lax on Marijuana as the U.S. is and he STILL brought some over there.

Sorry, but anyone who owns owns 0.7 grams of marijuana vape oil loves their pot; this much can easily give a person 30 or more marijuana "experiences". The user will most likely keep this most cherished product in their pocket, or possibly a bag, BUT THEY DEFINITELY KNOW WHERE IT IS. And then throw in the activity of traveling to RUSSIA, where she knows it is FORBIDDEN! No no. Sorry girl. You thought that there was no way you would get caught, and you were most likely very successful in your smuggling in the past. Sorry, deserved anything she got. A person is VERY stupid for trying to pull this off. And the biggest reason for that is that marijuana withdrawal is not that bad, at least compared to some other drugs. Some laws are just not worth trying to break.

That's like saying "she was so vocal about how terrible being slapped is - why isn't she okay with being pushed off a building?" Two things can be bad, with one being worse than the other.

Poor Brittney Griner. It is absolutely heartbreaking what she had to endure. She should have been able to continue enjoying her love of basketball, the love of her wife and living her life. Not to be locked in some cold, cruel heartless cell and treated less than human. Even grown men shudder in fear at the thought of going to a Russian prison. Miss Griner truly is a strong and resilient woman who endured one of the worst experiences of captivity and lived to make it back home and tell her story. Truly an inspirational example for any woman, and even any man for staying strong under a harsh, brutal and seemingly hopeless situation.

This is why you don't break the law, also don't do drugs. Then you wouldn't have been in that situation.
