Awesome build!! Love seeing these trucks modded and used off road. I've got an 04 Tundra myself. Double cab and 4wd. Mine's stock and a daily driver.

Thats a nice bracket that he made for the aux beam! I am currently trying to figure out how I am going to mount the solenoid for my winch and aux beam controller in the engine bay.

Ya, it’s a good bracket. Fortunately, there’s lots of room in the engine bay!
Love it! Can you point me in the direction of setting up a switch pod like that? Currently in the process of building a bed camper in my 04 DC

Several companies pre-make a switch board, which is a good place to start! The one I have linked in the description is the one he has, a nilight setup. Otherwise, I’m sure there’s KZread videos that go into greater detail on install and potential setups and circuitry
Are the dich lights the 5 or 7 inch versions?
Awesome first gen! Leer camper shell is sweet. I notice you said he was a smart man retaining OEM. Do you say that be ause of savings and simplicity? If so, are any other areas you feel this applies?

On the lower ball joints? That’s a specific point of failure on the Tundra where OEM is the best choice. It’s the most important. There are other places where OEM might be the best option, but it’s the ball joints where it really counts. I have a short explanation here: kzread.infoFnlLc63c_vE?feature=share

@@208Tyler Great advice. Thanks man. O2 tundra owner and new sub
Whats the brand for the transmission cooler?
What skid plates does he use
I have a very similar setup, sadly mine is a 2wd It is a Trd, so it has the LSD I don’t think it’s working very well,It’s more of a camping truck do you think that I should rebuild the LSD or lock it, of course, finances are always in consideration. How often do you throw into 4 x 4 versus just using your LSD?

I would not have gotten my truck had it not been 4WD. With plans to take it to remote places and eventually making it more capable off-road, 4x4 was a must. Doesn’t mean you can’t get a long ways on 2WD, but you’ve got a lower ceiling. I’m based out of Idaho
Awesome. I have too many “add-a-fuses” 😖

Hahaha
I am so confused as to whether or not people drive these with the thought in the back of their head that the lower ball joint will possibly fail at any moment. Is this not true? From what i see and here it is constant maybe due to owners negligence like buying aftermarket LBJ intead of OEM LBJs. But i dont even know if OEM LBJs will prevent the LBJ failure. Can you please help me out this truck is my last resort.

The truck will be fine if you just put OEM lower ball joints on every 60-100k miles. I don’t worry about mine.

I have the same truck, going to the 33” tires improved mileage. Got an ARE canopy, very disappointed in canopy

Adding larger, heavier tires will not improve mpg. Interesting. What are you disappointed with? ARE and Leer are some of the best canopy makers I know of

I absolutely love these trucks I worked in the service department in 2000 when they first rolled out & I knew I would own one. Still not finished with my 2000 access cab 4x4 but here's a video from a few years ago kzread.info/dash/bejne/pJ6q28Npk9u0lbA.html

Sorry mate the double cab was added for 2004-2006 but the engine you talked about wasn’t the older 4.7 v8 it was the iforce 4.7 v8 which is more powerful, also I’m pretty sure that’s the 5 speed in the 04 not the 4 speed, beautiful truck I got an 06 gonna make it dope

Dude this stuff is free on the internet. He has the old V8 and the 4 speed. All V8 tundras have I-force engines, you’re talking about VVTI, which shows up in 05. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Tundra
