Tenacity. Training. Really modern cyclist training is based off Brunyeel and Armstrong's teamwork. Yeah he doped, yeah a lot of riders doped, yeah some didn't, but you cannot take away the the way this guy was hungry and willed himself to seven titles in a row. Only the motor gets you up a hill. Technology helps, but in the end, the one that can tolerate the suffering more wins.

Risk vs. Reward. If the governing bodies allow riders to risk their lives sitting on top tubes descending at 50+mph then allow allow these athletes to tune their bodies.

Glywnnis Wells obviously whoever doesn’t take doping would not have been close to the top since a rider who doesn’t take doping would never be close to follow the ones that do, no matter the talent.

He's battled and beat biggest challenge cancer he inspired me five years ago I had cancer and beat it that makes him a legend and others who also battle cancer winning tour de France is easier than battling cancer he said that himself all strength to everyone battling cancer

Lance's accomplishments will always be under a cloud, because one will never know how much of it was due to his superior physical or mental ability and how much of it was due to doping or whether he was willing to take health risks that other cyclists might not .. hell Lance himself even admitted that his cancer might have been caused by doping. Thank God they stripped him of all his titles.

Bring on the Pain USP had all the pieces precisely in place. Jan Ullrich had more talent but team was either not strong or not focused on him. Johan had superior vision for tactics and the big picture. Micelle ferrari had superior ways to adapt riders’ physiology. Lance without a doubt had the- never quit, ride till i die- cut throat mentality that helped him and hurt him. I give more credit to johan, lance and USP supposedly gave him his break into the game. But imagine johan with jan, or marco pantani. Would lance have won with any other dir? Johan won with other riders. Would other riders who “couldnt climb” but could time trial have been crafted into a 7x monster? Its interesting to think of

yup. Johan doesn't get as much credit as he should imo. the tactics made the difference. along with the win at all costs LA mentality (which is well.. u know). Just like F1- "gotta have everything" engine, chassis, strategy, structure, driver.

+MJJ & AGB I wouldn't be surprised if most of those doped also, especially Lemond. VO2 Max 92.5 is unheard of. Even Armstrong was well below.

If they took drugs out of cycling, THE CHAMPIONS WOULD BE THE SAME, because everyone uses them. Lance is one of the greatest in history and nothing will erase that.

All riders back then did so and tbh it is a spectacular sight to watch them climbing a mountain with extraordinary speeds and descending with speeds well over 60mph...it was a spectacular sight to behold...all these epo and shit really made them superhuman and made the TdF superexciting aswell

Yeah,Lance went doped but if you are not good enough....you don't win 7 tours...maybe lance went with 98 octane oil and the others with 95 octane jajaj...

I used to have a very bitter taste in my mouth when Armstrong would come up but that was 5 years ago. This kind of behaviour is not uncommon for people who push to the top, it doesn’t have to be cycling. When you’ve got immensely driven and competitive people all looking to get to the top with limited opportunity, you’d be hard pressed to find people not like Armstrong. People are dicks, not all of them, but they will pull some pretty nasty and vindictive shit just to taste the gold. Lance just pushed the envelope more than the others (who were also doping).

Everyone was doping,but he was the best at his period and people didn't like it because it's an European sport. He was higher than anyone's level it's insane... If you know just little about sports you know MORE DRUGS or Steroids doesn't mean you're gonna excel faster or get better results.
