Thank you, EnigmaZero, for putting these bowling videos on KZread. I did not have access to EPSN in 1999, so this is the first time I have seen these tournaments.

There were fantastic finishes in the 2nd, Semi Final, and title matches of the Stepladder Finals of the Columbia 300 Open.

They bumped up the pin weight 4oz. for the show? I never heard of that in my life.

The gold paint on the pins added weight.

I’m not sure if the paint is where the weight came from, but the gold pins were 3 lb 10 oz and were used exclusively on the shows from summer 1998 through winter 2001. I wish they’d use 4 lb pins now.

53:51 Parker's infamous foot foul which had his spare nullified later on in the match. I really can't think of pretty much any other time where a scoring decision was made that much later on in a match, I guess there was that time when they took away 10 pins from Tom Smallwood's final score well afterward when he won the 2018 Touring Players Championship due to him getting shaving cream on his ball during the initial celebration.

There was also the famous towel shot by Norm when the outcome had been decided and he threw the ball from being wrapped up in a towel on the fill shot, just as a trick shot for the fans. They gave him zero (correctly) since he had no fingers in the ball. I think he left the 5-7.

@@enigmazero8624 Jason Belmonte was given a zero for a shot for letting someone in his family do the shot FOR HIM but at the time he had shut his opponent out and it was the final shot so it had no effect on the outcome.

@@enigmazero8624 I cannot remember as I watch a lot of bowling but its very RARE for his whole family (I think he is married with 4 children) to be there at his events as they are from Australia and its a long flight and the kids are all school age. I forgot which of his kids did the shot, might have been his wife but he only did it after he had shut his opponent out so that the zero would not cost him the victory. I saw it on one of the bowling vids.

That foul penalty applied retroactively was the ONLY time I have ever seen Parker Bohn the 3rd miss a single pin spare.

For Pete Weber to crack a smile on Parker’s last shot just shows the respect he has for PBIII….example….Weber vs Belmonte……”get your godd@%# towel off my ball” as he chucks it to the ground
