I think that the latch cover checking has a double purpose. Making sure that you don't leave something in the boot.
I don't know where he gets "0-60 in 8.5 secs" for the 230 Kompressor. The 99 models were 7.3 secs (auto and manual) and from 00' this was reduced to 6.9 secs. Quite a difference to 8.5 seconds!
Come on... I know I can get to 60 much quicker than 8 seconds in mine... but you're spot on about that traction control. It makes the car the absolute worst in winter conditions. The TC will bog the car down until it comes to a complete stop.
The 8.5sec time is taken from the automatic spec sheet, they never actually measured any times at all. The manual will do 0-60 in about 7.5sec, actually.
The r170 230k is the stuka and the amg32 is the me262.
8.5 Sec! My automatic 230 stock does about 7 seconds on a bad day. Manual should hit 60 in 6.8-6.9, but now mine does about atleast 6.8 with a few mods.

SuperSw21 disappointed when I heard "8.5" seconds, but if it's closer to the 6-7 mark (looking at a manual), then that's more like it. What's it like to drive? Nice and sporty? Or a bit soft?
my 1999 slk roof goes up and down ok . but , its a little to low and i got to left the roof some to help it clear the back rest of the seats. anything to adjust to fix this ? besides that i have owned the car for about 6 years and its great!

i've found used SLK in Lithuania ,that has only cosmetic defects, and costs 2000 euro ,is it worth?

i have a 1999 slk with 87.000 miles mint condition in the us for $5500 so they are very cheap

Clk has 4 seats and is bigger slk is 2 seater more sporty and smaller

Read the posts. It's a spec from the manual, not a test done for the video. And my guess is they went high on the time so owners would be happy with shorter times.

I addressed that by dipping the old wheels selenite grey and respraying the interior flat black. My car is black on black on grey, and actually looks pretty manly!
