Don’t do a mausoleum. As a cemetery superintendent, I can assure you, they will be a problem. The will eventuallyEventually need significant maintenance. The cemetery either will run out of funds at some point, or find it too expensive to repair these massive crumbling facilities. At least with a simple burial, the worst that can happen are the grounds aren’t kept, or the headstone deteriorates.

Indeed, the famous Johnston Mausoleum in Calvary Cemetery,Queens,NY is a case in point. It's Enormous! Built by the wealthy Johnston Brothers of New York in the mid Eighteen hundreds for their rest in the afterlife with no expense spared and towering over the Cemetery, a problem ensued when the only surviving third and youngest Brother squandered the family fortune and there was no money left to maintain this Colossus. It's worth looking up,a magnificent Mausoleum.

Appreciate the honesty, agree. Do what they do in my area, report it to a higher Superior/department. It's like pissing in the wind, but gets the members thinking..

@@michaelwightman4358 You can report up all you want but unless there are funds to repair it, it’s not happening. Very very few cemeteries have those kind of funds. It usually requires some type of perpetual endowment set up at time of origination for what will be necessary.

Urns with ashes should be allowed to be buried in private gardens, for coffin burials it can be more complicated, but, for urns is certainlty ok

Believe me you never actually get one persons ashes they are slightly mixed with previous cremations and us as gravediggers would fill our dumper truck with dust ashes and tip the bones that were too big for grinding and the false hips into a common paupers grave

Graves should remain untouched. Period. Eventually when graveyards are full, the money stops coming in and they're pretty much abandoned. Also, as generations pass, those future generations will not even know who you are or not know where you're buried. I know where my mother's parents and my father's father are buried. My niece and 2 nephews dont know who they are. They'll see pictures but thats it. When they're my age and Im gone, they most likely will not be visiting those graves. We are forgotten quickly. I'm being cremated and buried in one of the 2 remaining family plots with my father and grandfather. The end.

You westerners call our culture pagans and try to show us and our cultures backward but you, yourself being unscientific and run out of space to survive Dead people doesn’t need space or a land. they are nonliving creatures, you can cremate them So you could have enough space to survive and kids have a place to play😂😂

The dead don't need any accommodations. Living people are making the decision to continue with these kinds of burials. It's expensive and it only puts a financial burden on the loved ones left behind.

First! And I actually watched the video twice :p. Recycling graves does sound like a useful solution if one wants to continue doing burials, and also sounds horrific at the same time. Maybe we should revisit the practice of reserving scarce land for rotting corpses? In the future, only the wealthy will be able to afford burial plots apparently. This isn’t an issue in the USA where we have so much stolen land to work with over here.
