This video is underrated. I had power to the motor but when I put it under load I would lose my 12v. After studying the blower motor circuit diagram this video made perfect sense. I ran the wires and it worked as I hoped. Thank you immensely.

Hi Great post about this blower issue. I have the same problem with my 2000 plate Cherokee XJ . Burnt relay , relay holder and some of the harness wiring. Have you a diagram of what wires you used to power the relay , and blower motor . ? Cheers

what if the problem melting is on the ground side? then what do you do?

Hey, I tried your fix. I got my Jeep to partially work. I tried using the signal wire from the original blower motor relay to trigger the new relay that I installed. I only got one speed, and when I changed the speed selector on the dash there was no change in speed of the fan. Am I missing something here??

Did you ground the blower back to the original ground? All of the speed selection is done on the ground side. other than that you could have a bad blower motor resistor if it only works on speed 4

dalton456 first off, thank you so much for replying. Secondly I did not ground back into the factory harness. I grounded the other side of the relay. Effectively eliminating all of the factory blow motor wiring. (Positive and ground) So basically all I need to do is connect a ground back into the factory harness?

If you would like speed control you have to use the factory ground on the harness,if you just want the blower to work you can ground it out directly

dalton456 ok, will do that. Again, thanks for the reply. I’ll let you know how it turns out. When I saw your video I knew this was the fix for my problem.

FYI, you do not have to pull the heater box to get the blower out roflmao, little bit of finagling and it comes out, ask me how I know lol... all parts including harnesses are available
