1996 Cannondale F700 Bike Restored & Transformed - 90's Restoration Rebuild - Vintage Retfurb Refurb

In this video we completely overhaul a retro 1990's mountain bike.... The Cannondale F700.
The bicycle will be going through a complete strip down and rebuild. It will have most of the parts upgraded, But trying to keep them within the same period of components as the bike.
We show the process involved for maintenance servicing on the parts and how to transform them back to top working condition.
The whole bike has become very tired & dirty over the years, So now it is time to restore life back in to this iconic bike.
Keep posted for how we carry out all of the refurbishments on the vintage & retro bike components.
-
Back in 1996 the Cannondale F700 was high in the Cannondale hierarchy. The F700 sat in third place in the hardtail line up, Being out spec'd by the F1000 & F3000 models.
The frame was the exact same CAAD3 model, On all of the models. But the spec was what differentiated them between each other.

Awesome work dude. Turned out incredible. I’ve got a 92 Delta V 1000 in my rebuild queue. It’s just the simple black and white paint job and I was going to keep it original and scarred but after seeing this shine… I’m having some second thoughts!

This is awesome to watch…want to do my F1000 and M900 now. That period of Caad 3 frame was super light and stiff. My F1000 (1998) is super fast with Mavic Cross Max. How do you do the decals?

Thank you, I am glad you liked it. I appreciate the comments. Yeah, It is very rigid. Surprisingly so. I made them all up on the computer and then printed/cut them with a Roland machine. 👍

I also have a 1996 F700 since 1996, it's yellow and less original. It was light and twitchy, still is 😂 I try to get it out for a retro ride a couple or times per year... I'm way more confident riding it than my 1995 carbon team sx 💀😂

Ah, Nice. They definitely add up to a decent low weight and feels very stiff. I'm planning to take it out again tomorrow for a decent ride, So hoping it won't be too fatiguing. I may just take the STS out. Is that the Mongoose SX?

What a great video, you deserve more subs and views. I have a 1988 sm700 alpine series in black that I am deciding what to do with. The paint is chipped, but I am hesitant to paint it because it's such a rare example. Also because when I painted my t700 it was an enormous amount of time and effort and I promptly messed up the paint a few days after it was painted. Maybe I will just do a mechanical restoration and keep it as a rider.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate the kind words. Lovely bike. You could always do a mechanical overhaul, Like you say. Get it all fresh and adjusted at the same time. Maybe see if you can find a similar matched paint and do some small touch in's. I did this on the GT timberline build and it came out great. Obviously that has the benefit of being speckled type finish.

Looking forward to that HS33 video, got a set myself but scared to take them apart for fear of braking something I can't replace. It'll be great to see how the adjuster wheel works as mine seem to be broken.👍

Hopefully I will have them on soon. Once you see how they are taken apart, You will be a lot more comfortable with doing it. They are fairly simple in operation.
