He can sing the entire score of the HMS Pinafore....or at least Sideshow Bob can whom he voiced.

I was there. This doesn't do justice how loud it got when Ozzie was introduced.

My God Piazza was a freaking beast in the '90s. Wow...that homerun shot was incredible.

Piazza's home in this game, along with Reggie Jackson's homer in the 1971 AS Game, are the two longest home runs in All Star Game history.

The Last True All Star Game. 1997 Interleague play was introduced. pretty much robbing the All Star game’s mystique.

You’re entitled to your opinion but I respectfully disagree. I love interleague play and since it was introduced there have still been plenty of terrific, instant classic all star games. Not to mention some all-time great World Series played. The great game of baseball stands on its own. Adding or taking away interleague play won’t change the mystique baseball has on its own, whether its playoff races, all star games, or the postseason. It’s technically just a fun exhibition game so I don’t know how much significant the “drop” in “mystique” may be especially compared to say if we were talking about the postseason and World Series.

I have to agree, not too mention, NL park( the great Vet) the pitcher's spot has to bat, no DH, even in the All-star game back then... now even Senior circuit uses the DH all the time.. stripping away more mystic!

Blows my mind how many good players Montréal had... can we give this city their team back already?

Anyone else watching this after the Phillies announced the 2026 all star game will be played at citizens bank park?

It was so great in those days before Rob Manfreak took over as Baseball Comissioner and introduced these stupid rules like seven inning doubleheaders and a runner at second base when starting a tenth inning. Plus the fact that you have five and six inning over paid pitchers. With that and whatever else comes makes for a fucked up national pass time.

Ricky Bo! I see the future, I see you on NBC Sports Philadelphia laying the smackdown on the Phillies every time they lose ... and every time they win. I suppose there's always room for improvement.

Wow...totally forgot Roger Pavlik actually pitched in an all-star game...and Dante Bichette had the worst case of scrunch-face.
