United’s learning curve. They were still learning their trade while that Juventus side is regarded as one of the best European sides. Though they ended up on the losing side but they gave Juve a tough fight proving that they are capable of mixing with the big boys in Europe on their day. They grew mentally stronger each year beating them the next season and in 1999, they were finally able to end Juventus’s dominance in Europe en route to the Final and the Treble

It's a different team. No Cantona and drive by Keane and Scholes and finish by Yorke and Cole. Overall that treble among the best runs towards the final beating Inter, Juve and Bayern in the final.

@@jzlnz Not to mention barely surviving the “Group of Death” where United were drawn against Bayern, Barcelona and Brondby. Both United and Bayern barely survived the Group of Death and United qualified into the last 8 as one of the best 2 runners-up. Bayern finished with 11 points and United with 10.

We had Vialli and Ravanelli the previous year that were truly Amazing and real killers. Boksic was fast and athletic but he was making many mistakes and missing many chances.
