1995 Masters Tournament Final Round Broadcast
Спорт
Watch the complete final round broadcast of the 1995 Masters. Ben Crenshaw wins his second Tournament in emotional fashion, paying tribute to his late mentor Harvey Penick. Davis Love III finished one stroke back.

Of all the Masters I have watched, this one was one of the best I've seen. To see the emotion that Crenshaw displayed on the 18th green is a vision that has remained with me for years and years. He was destined to win this tournament and I do believe that Harvey Penick was indeed the 15th club in Crenshaws bag.

Other than my mom taking me to a North Carolina driving range in 1981 at age 17, I had no clue about golf in 1995. I happened to turn on the Masters on Sunday and thought, ‘wow, this is a beautiful setting and holy cow-this guy Crenshaw really can putt!’. Agree 100%! A funny story you'll enjoy: I was at a PGA event in 1990 a couple of weeks after Crenshaw beat Nick Price at the Colonial. I had the chance to chat with Price at the driving range and asked him about Crenshaw's putting. I'll never forget what he said, which was that there are many players on the PGA tour who make lots of putts, but nobody like Crenshaw. He said that Ben is different in that he rolls the ball into the center of the cup at the perfect speed. He said he hit the ball so much better than Crenshaw that week it was ridiculous, but Ben kept rolling in putt after putt and finally put him away.

"We think you'll be among the great in the future too"....oh yeah
Tiger Woods was a rare golfer in that he never went to Q-School. He got some sponsor exemptions after he turned pro and in one of those tournaments he won gaining a two year exemption. Phil Mickelson never went to Q-School as he did something Tiger didn’t do and that was a. A PGA Tour event as an amateur thus gaining his exemption when he turned pro. A third player from that era to not having to go to Q-School was Justin Leonard. He got his tour card by making the top 125 of the money list after he turned pro.
Tiger says he was able to play with the greatest players in the world, now he is the greatest player in the world.
Crenshaw has so many breaks to hold on, amazing.

I want to start by saying I love golf and the Masters. However the song choice used to talk about the first Masters was very interesting to say the least. Something about seeing Arnold Palmer (Who I think at the time was in his late 50s) with the wonderous Jurrasic Park theme overlapping old footage was very jarring for me. Interesting commentary at 33:06 ... I wonder what that means. All the greens have been moved, or merely replaced? If a green has been replaced but not moved, none of the original bunkering remains? Perhaps there was little bunkering in the original layout? I guess I've got some Augusta National reading to do :-).
@TheLocalLt
3 жыл бұрын
Originally the bunkering was ornate and decorative, such as the MacKenzie Bunker. This was changed mostly aside from this bunker, although some other decorative relics remain such as the bunkers behind the 12th and 13th greens, although these now most have a normal shape. The MacKenzie bunker originally guarded the 10th green until the green was moved back behind the hollow, meaning that despite being basically taken out of play by that change, this bunker was the one wacky shaped one that survived. Many of the greens were also wacky shaped originally, you can see this in the remaining relatively strangely shaped greens like the 2nd, 3rd, 8th or 15th
