1995 Chevy Truck and Tahoe Speedometer Calibration for Perfect Accuracy

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This video is where I can finally answer the question of how to calibrate the early 90's GM Chevy truck, tahoe and suburban with absolute accuracy!
Follow along as I show off the VSSB module that I ordered with changeable DIP switches to allow for most any tire size and gear ratio change.
This is the module that I ordered:
www.udmodule.com/drac/diy.html
But click the link to "About Modules" to find out exactly which module might be right for your truck since they seem to change specs every year in the 90's.
Then head on over to this website to find out a good starting point for your DIP switches... harristuning.com/Tbi/vssb-dra...
I entered in my information and ended up having to adjust several times to get it exactly right... but it is now and I AM STOKED on the results!
Please consider heading over to the AutoEdits Amazon storefront to see if there's any shopping you might do to help support the channel...

And make sure you are subscribed and hit the notification bell to show that scary algorithm what's up! @autoedits

Ok so I finally got back around to this and figured out the gear ratio for my truck from the RPO Codes. Mines was GU6 which is 3:42. Calibrated mine today. The part came in yesterday. Can't believe I've been riding around in my truck for almost 20yrs thinking I'm doing 50 mph for example when I was really doing 38 mph. Go figure that.

I have the same problem with my truck, a 95 C-1500 Silverado SWB, Extended Cab. When the Speedometer reads from 20 to 50 mph, the gps on my iPhone reads 7 mph less. When I go 75 mph by gps the speedometer reads 89-90. Since it is OBD-1, no codes were recorded. Thank you for showing me what and where the problem resides, and how to fix it.

95 is a crossover year (96+ interior but, with OBD 1.5 and a TBI motor). 96-00 is OBDII. 96-97 "Black Box" PCMs are a bit limited on what software can tune them, 98+ are much better and if you want to get really involved you can repin the harness to use a programmed "0411" pcm.

Thank you. So, you're basically saying the calibration numbers do not match your setup, and you are manually adjusting to find what works on the road. Is your setup correct on the truck as you entered it? Maybe the tires are worn/over-or-under-inflated? I'm assuming the table is supposed to represent existing gear ratios with new tires, properly inflated, cold.
