1994 Wrangler Time Lapse Restoration

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Here is a Jeep Sahara YJ of a customer who had us (Resto Rides) bring it back to life in mechanical, interior, exterior. Really turned out well.

I hate to be “that guy” but man a Sahara that was actually in decent condition like that one is getting really hard to come by. The seats were reupholstered unfortunately because the green ones are super rare. As well as all the green and gray interior again getting hard to come by. A stock base model Jeep would have been better to do this to. Probably could have made money off selling the Sahara parts and gotten base model parts to repaint and reupholster.

Sahara is just a name and nothing more it's still a junk jeep no matter what they call it.

Naw man. This Jeep was from a time when the Sahara name actually meant something. In addition to being the trim level used in Jurassic Park (spared no expense), it was the top of the line for the YJ. It offered features not found in the base Jeep line. Cloth seats? In a Jeep? Almost unheard of during that time. There were also not very many of these Jeeps made. They were a rare sight. Not like today, where every other Wrangler you see on the road has the Sahara name on it. And, you're right, now, it is just a name. There is nothing about the Fiat Jeeps that makes the Sahara name stand out; not tan top, no green trailcloth interior, no Moss Green paint job. Back then, it meant so much more.

@@christhornton8219 Agreed Chris, for those of us who know it seems like the only part of the Sahara line that stayed true is the fender flare are still painted the same color as the jeep. I am in the process of restoring my 91 Sahara and my daughter ask if we could paint it yellow. Being a jeep guy I said we will find you another jeep we can build and paint it whatever color you like. My goes back to like when I bought it new with a few mods ( 2.5" lift, New LED lights, Better bumpers and i'm sure some more things will come up)

Great job on the restore but the Chrome is awful and you plasti-dipped all the interior, that won't hold up long. Congrats on the build though, overall it looks good.

With the exception of the square headlights...the YJ's are really the last of the truly great Jeeps. Find yourself a 95 like I did and enjoy the galvanized steel body and the legendary 4.0L inline six engine. They certainly don't make them like they used to.
