Alexander Kurlovich was so strong, he could easily lift 200 kgs snatch and 240kgs clean and jerk all throughout the year.

Kurlovich was 33 or 34 here, and still he was a machine. 💪

Kahki crushing it as always. Doing better than super heavy weights two classes above him weighing less than 90kg!!!

What was khakhi’s weight here? Was everybody on weight & was this sanctioned? And why couldn’t Dimas figure out that he needed to switch to power jerk before World Championships?

Khakhi weighted 91kg here. It was his last competition representing Georgia. Following that he competed representing greece in Turkey. This was an official competition thus the World Record from Kurlovich. the weight classes had changed the previous year and many world records were still unbeaten (based on the standard set). Dimas was injured and from what I'm told he was trying to see if he could use the Split Jerk as he had issues with the power jerk.

Was Khaki the overall winner here? 410 total at his body weight of 90 kilos vs Kurlovitch at 130 kilos body weight with a 450 total.

I think at these world cups the medals were based on the total being a percentage of world records. That’s what the announcer is talking about at the end.

So strange seeing Pyrros using a split jerk. I can see how it never worked in his favor
