One of the best-built cars Mercedes-Benz ever made. One of the last cars that the engineers designed, not the accountants. These will run forever with proper maintenance. You bought one of these for the quality and the solid driving experience. If you wanted flash and gadgets, Cadillac was down the road. Mercedes-Benz lost its way when it started chasing after that market. This car is for eating up miles on the Autobahn. The blue leather looks fantastic and blue over silver exterior is classy. The W124 is such a simple stately design. The convertibles are pretty rare. The monowiper is trippy to see when it's raining and the headlight wipers are cool.

I like it. Before I bought my W140 you see in my videos I thought about a W124 convertible for a while.

We had a 1995 E320 cabriolet. Absolutely wonderful car and built like a bank vault. It was red with chrome wheels. A van turned in front of us at a light and we hit it broadside. The car did exactly what it was supposed to do and we walked out without a scratch. I did cry to see my car damaged.

The interior color is just awsome.

I own a white one with black interior and black top. Excellent car.

Those aren’t headrests. Those are basically the roll bar, you can manually raise them or they will pop up in the event of an impending roll over.

The Winter tire button is actually a special drive mode when driving in hefty winter with (in german) "Schneeketten" Which are actual metal chains being put on your tires. Seems to be a euro thing tho

Factory Radios again are always preferable to aftermarket, I'm gonna go so far to say that I would not finish the deal if the car doesn't have one, I would consider it to be butchered and not a complete vehicle.

I agree for the most part but if the aftermarket unit looks clean and has an oem look i might consider it.

The Headrests double as rollover protection, they pop up if you are in danger of a rollover. No other car had these, why didn’t you mention it?

I have to strenously disagree with your assesment of the diving/ride dynamics of these W124s. They are not soft boulevard cruisers. They're autobahn burners. You see, back in the day, it was common for well-handling European cars to have body-roll. It was purposely designed-into the chassis tuning. They rolled, but they were unflappable. Planted no matter what you through at them. Afterall, they were designed to take sweeping curves at 110-140 mph. (Today, people associate good handling with flatness, and that's not necessarily true). That was the miracle of these cars...soft and smooth up ultra planted and surefooted. And the engines were powerful but lazy. To get the full power, you had press the accelerator very hard and deep, and hold it there, then it would kick-down launch like a horse with a bee sting. Also, they started from stop in second gear--also a design feature that caused people to think they're slow.

I hired one of these to impress a girl I wanted to go out with. I was only 17 and did not have a licence so my dad had to drive it. We drove it to the girls wedding. I think I wasted my money 🤑

Wagon for me. I've given thought to importing a Euro-spec manual turbodiesel wagon.

To meet thus car seems so ugly ㅠ.ㅠ I feel like BMW aged much better
