It’s wonderful to look back on these Glory Days of Real MOTOGP, it always has angered me that our American public haven’t gotten behind our riders! These were Real Racers, Men amongst Men and vicious Race Bikes with Zero Mickey Mouse “rider aids” which have no place on Race Bikes! You guys were The Best Aussie Wide World Of Sports!🤘🏼

Wayne Gardner last race and puts it on the line still, Doohan and his bravery. Kocinski riding so beautifully and so reminiscent of Roberts. Wayne Rainey becomes World Champion. A momentous occasion, on the whole.

What a GREAT year in GP road racing! I just watched the Suzuka round, that year was an epic battle with titans on bikes that would try to kill them. It doesn’t get any better than this!

Somehow, an historic weekend this one from Kyalami 1992: 1)Rainey world champion for the third time, and last Yamaha champion in top class for 12 years; 2)Biaggi scored his first world championship win in 250cc class; 3)Gramigni won for himself and Aprilia the first 125cc class title.

Its amazing Rainy lasted as long as he did before he got hurt. Dont take me wrong. I love the man however he was merciless on a front tire. Pushed the front tire incredibly to far all the time. Watch close how his bodybis over the front tire most all the time

That was wonderful. Thank you. I like the "wraps" at the end as well. Chili vs. Fogarty in 1998 at Kyalami in WSBK was fantastic too.

From what I've heard Doohans' leg looked like a burst sausage from when Dr Claudio Costa had sewn the injured leg to the healthy one to maintain its blood supply. If CC hadn't, Mick would've lost the leg. Ballsy.

Roberts never payed any positive attention to Kosinski and it was always a shame that he didn’t but he was focused solely on Rainey. Much like Schwantz who while Loyal to Suzuki they could never give him a bike that was 100% competitive and despite this he won anyway even though the Honda was 10 mph faster on the top end. BTW, calling us Texans “Yank” is serious Fighting Words.

The Suzuki was a beautiful handling bike and enabled Schwantz to ride it accordingly. The Honda definitely had more juice but it handled like a pig at times when they were trying to feed it too much. Aussies use the term "Yank" with affection. You'll be reaching for your nearest assault rifle when they use the term "Seppo".
